Cailina's mood sunk as she looked at the boy behind her father, he looked the same as Duke Grandis. He could be thought of as His Grace's hidden son, the boy's indigo eyes were as deep as her father, he was a copy.
She glanced at her father then at the boy, her heart pounded, no, it couldn't be. She, stepped back and cleared her throat, "Who is this father?"
Duke Grandis' lips formed in a smile, "He's your brother."
Her world crashed, the words her father said echoed in her mind. It was something her father wouldn't do; she landed her gaze on her mother in which the latter only gave a small smile.
Duchess Grandis held her composure in front of her, she should at least ask who the mother was.
Cailina gritted her teeth, her hand clasped on her sides. The Empire didn't frown upon having children outside of marriage, but the bitterness could not be suppressed in her heart.
