Cailina tapped her fingers on her arm as she stared at the book. She has been keeping her gaze on it for a while, and sleep refused to visit her even with just a blink.
The moon shone behind her, she left the window open to let it the cool breeze, in hopes of lulling her to slumber with its hush.
The moonlight painted her room in a blue hue that one could find comforting to look at. The night was still as everyone lay asleep except for the favored one. Cailina closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She didn't know whether it was her sudden curiosity for the book or it was about tomorrow's banquet. She might have denied that she was anxious, but maybe in her heart, she doesn't want to cause a scene at the party.
