Servants shift around with light footsteps, each carrying a lamp as they guard their posts. Wary of their movements as the masters slept.
A maid bowed her head and handed a basin of water to Fione. The latter went inside and saw her Lady's pet, staring at her.
"My Lady," Fione whispered, ignoring the intense gaze that the bird was giving her.
She was ordered to fetch water as the Lady felt sultry even with the winter winds. Her suggestion to call for a doctor was turned down as Cailina believed it was unnecessary to do so. A slight discomfort was bearable.
The maid gently wiped Cailina's face down to her neck and shoulders. It was done quickly and the Lady was left alone to rest. Fione closed the doors and out of her attention, the bird snuck out and followed her.
