Lai stood behind Cailina as the latter sipped her tea. She leisurely enjoyed the newly brewed tea that her attendant volunteered to make. The scenery of the garden was wasted as she kept her gaze on the table, uninterested in whatever was happening around her.
She sighed and glanced at Lai, "Any letters from Aris?"
Her attendant shook his head. He didn't want to lie to his master, but he also wouldn't want Cailina to fall into such grief. Although she denied that it affected her, her emotions were displayed for him to see.
Lai sighed and was caught by Cailina. She turned and narrowed her eyes at him, "Is something the matter?"
He blinked at her and looked the other way. Realizing that being silent the whole time would only cause more suspicions from Cailina. He didn't know what happened to Aris, but the servants from the fief informed him that the puppy has been missing for days.
