Cailina's fists tightened as the silhouette remained unmoving. The entity responded with its silence, even though it didn't appear to have eyes, she could feel the stare coming from it.
She glanced at her mother, still having the same smile on her face. It wasn't a smile of a mother looking at her daughter, but a smile to cover up the dead eyes in her face.
Her mother sat still, letting herself be close to the silhouette.
An attempt to step forward failed as Cailina stayed in place. The more she lifted her foot, the harder it was to tear away from the ground. She struggled but a force held her to where she was.
"Mother, wake up."
She called out. Perhaps the one keeping the unknown entity was her mother. If she could wake her, there might be a chance that the silhouette would leave.
Her voice sounded once more, hoping her mother would hear her.
