The clouds cleared, letting the sunlight shine on the land. Cailina held her umbrella tighter as she shielded herself from the bright light. She would've preferred to have rain instead of the blaring sun to participate in her father's burial.
The creaks sounded as the coffin was lowered to the ground. She stared blankly at the wooden enclosure that her father's body lay in. It was only a matter of time that the dirt would separate the living and the dead.
She glanced at the people present at her father's burial. All of them wore the appropriate attire. The Imperial Nobles carried the same expression on their faces. No one expected that the great Duke would fall.
