The girls who are allowed to have access to information in this place are those who have worked for at least one year and I haven't been around for a month, so I have to refrain from being able to do anything with the cellphone.
"You want to contact someone?" Carmen asked as I sat hugging my knees staring at the open outside window.
"No." I said.
Carmen walked over to the window and lit a cigarette, then took a strong smoke, a few moments later she gave off a thick smoke that immediately filled the room. I coughed suddenly and he smiled at me. "Do you want to try?" I turned it down, I definitely don't smoke.
"I have a boyfriend, his name is Alfons." Said Carmen, and it surprised me. How can a prostitute have a boyfriend? And why would that man give up his girlfriend to have sex with many other men at random and perhaps change partners almost every day.
"Are you crazy?" I asked in surprise. "That's not normal Carmen." I said.
Carmen smiled, and gave me a skeptical look, "There's nothing really normal in my life Christabell. I was born to a mother who was drunk, a prostitute and she never gave me a normal life. And now ... look at me, this is the most normal version of me. " She said sadly.
I'm really sorry for what I said, I don't know if her life is also as bitter as mine, or maybe even worse. "Carmen, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you remember all those terrible things."
"It's ok." She smiled briefly.
"So tell me about your boyfriend." I tried to change the topic of our conversation to cheer her up.
Carmen took a deep breath before starting her story. "We meet once a week at the nightclub, that's where he works."
"Oh ... does Mss. Parrish know about this?"
"Of course not, nobody knows but you."
"So how did you guys get into this secret relationship?" I asked and carmen stubbed out his cigarette and walked over to me, she sat on the bed, we both hugged our knees looking out the window.
"We enjoy short sessions in the bathroom where Alfons works every Wednesday."
"Are you sure Alfons loves you?"
"Yes... He does."
"How can you really sure about it?"
"No man can love a woman like us, and I feel like Alfons can accept me for who I am."
"You really are extraordinary."
"If you want to contact someone, I can lend you my cell phone."
I shudder, "I have no one to talk to. I don't have family or friends to contact. To be honest I don't have anyone, I'm alone and pathetic."
"You want to contact Richman?"
"Why whould I?"
"Tell that you miss him, maybe."
"No." I refused firmly.
Carmen stared at me deeply, "I see it all in your eyes. Christabell, you like him."
Hearing Carmen say that, my heart skipped a beat. Even though it's really hard to tell the truth because I'm embarrassed to admit it, I know I can trust Carmen. "Yes, I can't forget him. That night, his gaze, the touch of his hands, his voice, the scent of his body, and everything about him. Remembering all of that feels so torturous." Somehow my voice trembled and I felt like crying saying it.
"Just call him then." Carmen handed me her cell phone.
I remembered that after leaving the room earlier I received a roll of paper from Joel, and it contained Richman's personal contact number. Maybe I could tell him straight away to stop wasting his money on me. Or maybe just telling him, that I miss him.
"If you don't mind may I borrow it now."
"Sure. I'll take a shower." She said as she got up and walked away from me.
"For your info, I won't call Richard."
"It's up to you."
I immediately opened the roll of paper that I kept in a drawer in a box for jewelry. Even though I don't have any jewelry, but that paper is my most valuable right now. I wrote down the number on the screen and pressed call. I heard a dialed tone, several times, until I heard a woman's voice.
"R.A.Ltd, good morning." The woman's voice sounded very friendly.
"Hello." I answered doubtfully.
"Can I speak to Mr, . . ." I can't possibly say the name Richman, because that's not his name.
"Can you tell me, your name?" The woman seemed to be waiting for me to finish my sentence.
"Christabell."
"From?" She asked me again.
"Ritz."
"Ritz?" She doesn't seem to recognize the name of my agency, yes of course, this is a prostitution agency.
"Wait a minute." She said. And for a few moments a connecting tone was heard, until I heard her voice again. "Sorry, he's in an important meeting. You'd better call back later."
"Thanks." I ended my call and put Carmen's cell phone on her pillow.
I curl up hugging myself. The answer sounded to me like "he doesn't want to talk to you." The reason for the important meeting made me realize who I was, who I was so I deserved to contact him again. I am nothing, and he may have forgotten me.
"Have you finished calling?" Asked Amel.
"Yes."
"Who are you calling, why is it so fast?"
"My orphanage, I thought she was going to sleep so I just asked her how she was."
Carmen dries her hair by rubbing it with a towel "Oh..."
"Thank you." I smiled at Carmen before pulling the covers and wrapping my whole body including my head and crying under the covers until no one noticed, because carmen probably thought that I was asleep.
"Bell... I think your orphanage called you." Carmen shook my body and I immediately wiped my eyes then opened my blanket.
"My orphanage?" I'm just confused. I didn't even contact the orphanage.
"New number, call my cell. And I don't recognize this number." Carmen showed me the number and I didn't even recognize it. Because the number Joel gave was clearly different from the number calling Carmen's cell phone now.
"It could be your family . . .or maybe your other friend " I really don't know whose phone number it is.
"I'm only giving this number to Alfons, and only Alfons can reach this cell phone and this is definitely not his number. So pick it up." Carmen, handed me the cellphone and I hesitantly took it, this number is not the number I called earlier, but because of Sarmen's argument I picked it up.
"Hello." I received the call.
"Hello." I heard a voice with a heavy timbre that I've been hearing a lot these days like hallucinations. And now that I hear it again, it makes my whole body churn.
"Is this your cell phone number?" Asked the man.
"No, It's not mine." I answered briefly, I do not have a breath long enough to be able to say one long sentence.
"You called my assistant earlier?"
I took a deep breath. "Yes." I answered.
"What do you want to say?" He asked in a flat tone.
"I . . ." I took a deep breath, I glanced at Carmen who seemed to be watching me, so I walked away to make sure this conversation was only between the two of us, me and him. "I want you to stop spending money on worthless things."
I heard him laugh lightly "what do you mean by worthless things?" He asked
"For example, stop visiting The Ritz for sexual satisfactions." I say wild.
"Who are you until you have the right to rule my life, young lady." He said and it made me feel even more inferior.
"I am a nobody." I answered softly.
"Then what are your rights?" He asked coldly.
I swallowed "I have no right." I answered desperately. But he didn't seem to give up on making me aware of my position when he said all.
"Now I'm going to ask you, whose money was spent on those things that you thought were worthless?" He asked again.
"Yours."
"So who has the right to decide what to do with the money "
"You."
"Ok, let's make this clearer. This is my life, and this is my money. So whatever I'm going to do with my life and my money, no one has the right to control it. Those useless things do you think, but I don't think so. " He said at length.
I swallowed hard, with the remaining courage I had I said what was in my heart, "I'm just worried about you."
He was silent for a moment, and I turned to look at Carmen. It seems she came out of the room to give me more privacy. She really is a good girl.
"A million dollars you spend sitting and talking to girls like me doing nothing. Don't you realize that you've been wasting your money, rich man?"I said it in a stern tone.
"Ok, then?" He lowered his intonation
"Then the next night you give a lot of money to your driver, I don't even know how much, and he does the same stupid thing. Your driver sits with me in the room on your orders. "
"So that stupid man said who he was?"
"I even left him a message. I asked him to tell you to stop spending money to enjoy sexual satisfaction just for a moment and have to pay a heavy price for it. Find the girl you love and marry her, if you can have an amazing sexual life with just one woman, why you have to change partners ?"
"I don't marry women for sex."
"Then why are you wasting your money and you don't even have sex with me. You make me unsold!"
"Not sold?" His voice rose. "Ask your agency how much you earn on a two-day show. How much did the agency profit from selling you."
"I don't care about the agency, I care about you."
"Why do you care?" I swallowed hard.
"I don't know, I just don't feel like you should waste your money on me." I paused my sentence and he didn't say anything either.
"I'm not Gabrielle Zein." I whispered softly.
"How do you know that name?" His voice became hoarse. I took a deep breath.
"I know because I lived the life she had, I lived in the same place, so it was possible for me to know about her. Everybody knows her."
"I don't want you to say that name again when talking to me."
"I don't even want to talk to you anymore. So stop coming to this place." I concluded and he did not argue. He's silent, and I'm sorry to say it, I'm even happier to hear him even though he's grumbling than he's silent like this.
"You're a rich man, you're born perfect with a life as perfect as your good looks, so don't make a bad part of your life record by hanging out in places like this."
"You don't know what you said, young lady."
"I don't think our conversation will turn out well, so I'll end this conversation." I said.
"Don't let another guy touch you. At least stop selling yourself for the next three days." He said and it make me shocked. "Why?"
"Don't talk too much, just understand my orders and do like what I said to you. I will do everything in my power to keep the masher's hands away from you." he said firmly.
I whispered "Including from your own hands?"
"Yes." He replied curtly.
"Ok."
"Go to bed, see you tomorrow."
"Are you coming tomorrow?" I asked hopefully.
"If not me then there would be a man who ordered you and let you sit quietly in the room for an hour without opening a button of your shirt." I took a deep breath.
"Ok."
"Go to sleep, and if this number calls, it's me." He said and somehow my cheeks felt hot when she said those words. Maybe I blushed.
"Bye Mr. Richman." I expected him to correct by saying his real name, but he didn't.
"Bye." He just ended the call, and I handed the cell phone to Carmen. Apparently he was listening to our conversation, and when I returned his cell phone Carmen smiled at me.
"You know, your face is blushing." She said and I immediately covered my cheeks with my hands.
"Impossible." I said.
"That guy is obsessed with you huh?" Asked Carmen.
"I have no idea." I feel very embarrassed discussing it with her.
"He wanted you so badly I guess, until he called you in person. Or do you guys want to try my tips with Alfons? Go to a cheap nightclub to party and meet up there secretly, then fucking sex there."
Oh, if you knew that man was Richman, a super rich man who couldn't come to a cheap nightclub for my sake.
"What's the man's name?" Asked Carmen.
"I haven't asked it."
"Oh... you got to take a new step, forget about Richman, and enjoy hanging out with the middle class guy. Like your client tonight, maybe he's the guy who really wants you."
"I'll think about it." I nodded, and immediately returned to my bed. I have to end the conversation about the man so that Carmen doesn't know that it was Richman who actually contacted me. I pulled the blanket and covered my face.
"Night." I said and Carmen replied by saying the same word. But I just smiled happily under the blanket. I think I'm really going to have a nice dream tonight. Because of Richman, he is dark, mysterious and hard to break.
