Ben sat at the table with Paul and Leah. He was clearly on the lookout because Paul always smiled whenever their eyes met, as if laughing at Ben. The dinner went on awkwardly. Especially for Ben, he couldn't even enjoy Leah's roast beef, though Paul and Leah seemed to enjoy it.
"You must be tired from your long journey," said Paul.
Ben swallowed hard, he stopped chewing, "No sir." The lied.
"We don't usually have good food in our house. And this night, Leah is making roasts tonight, you're in luck, so eat a lot of it." Paul looked at Ben and the young man nodded.
"Thank you, sir," he answered. He was completely helpless in this small town. He couldn't take advantage of all his wealth and privileges. Even if Ben has a credit card with an unlimited, he can't buy anything in this small town.
"Enjoy your meal and take some rest," Paul said after he finished his dinner.
