The sights and sounds of Ulareg were all too familiar to Val.
They had entered the city at what was known as the earth district, named so because it was the lowest area of the city that wasn't the docks, which lay in the appropriately named water district.
Near the gates of the city were a variety of shops, storehouses, and merchant co-operatives. When the population started to grow in Ulareg during the rebuilding period following the war, the merchants in the city had the foresight to position themselves near the gates so that visiting traders could load and offload goods without having to navigate the somewhat labyrinthine streets that wound themselves through the various other sections of the city.
