Chapter 10 - Ch 2:1

The next day, Lolli kept a close eye on all the adults she walked past. She trailed behind them as they did each of their average tasks. Among them was Jasmine, who found Lolli's actions odd." What are you looking for?" Jasmine asked. Lolli comically narrowed her eyes." Where did Maxwell go? Why didn't I get to see her?"

Jasmine sighed," something happened and she couldn't make it, that's all."

"Okay, so what happened to her?"

"She got," Jasmine paused, frowning," she got hurt, Lolli." Lolli gasped. All that science equipment must have been dangerous!

"Is she okay?"

"She will be, soon. Maybe then you can go see her."

"But not now?"

"That's right. Not now."

Lolli left the castle in order to find a hospital. But there was nothing that looked anything close to one. After asking the local adults, they told Lolli to go back to the castle if she was hurt. "The king or queen can heal you. They are the light to the demon's darkness," Lolli was told. But she would've noticed Maxwell during the tour, wouldn't she? She didn't see a hospital in the castle, either. Still, she checked the castle once more and found nothing. Lolli gave up and sat in her new bedroom before deciding to play with Fluffy.

Later, Lolli was called down to the dining hall to have dinner with the royal family. Jasmine was there too and with- oddly enough- a small, human shaped watermelon." Hello, young Lolli," the king greeted. Crystal offered a small wave. The family sat on the right side of the questionably long table, the side closest to where Lolli entered. Jasmine sat a few chairs away from them. Lolli took a seat next to Crystal. Lolli noticed Crystal looked tired and eager to eat." Worry not, my daughter. This meal will replenish your magic energy," the king said.

Soon, the servants came and offered a plate of food to each of those who were seated. Except Lolli. Crystal was given a salad with many fruits." Fruit salad!" Lolli clapped her hands in excitement.

"No, dear. That one isn't for you. We prepared for you-erm," the queen looked at the servants. She quickly whispered something to her husband, who nodded." What do you like to eat, Lolli?"

"I like cake, and cookies, and anything sweet!" Crystal huffed and offered a forkful of fruits. Lolli happily picked them off." Another bowl of fruit, for the doll!" The king commanded before eating his own steak. The queen took a sample before humming in delight." That island makes the tastiest cows. You should hire him," the queen said.

Before long, Loll began to babble about her day. Crystal groaned quietly, but not quietly enough as to not let Lolli hear." I'm so happy to be here with you, Crystal!" Crystal felt the urge to smile.

"Of course you do. Who else would let you yap their ear off?"

"That's not nice! I thought we were friends!" Lolli playfully glared at the taller girl, who turned away.

"I'm not friends with," Crystal paused to glare back," little babies!" Normally, such a glare would be considered painful. But Crystal was smiling! The two girls continued to play instead of eat while the adults watched with, mostly, endearing looks.

"Now girls, hurry up and finish. Then you can play some more," the king said.
