Ronald's expression was unreadable. His eyes were fixated on Avalyn who just revealed her identity to him. I was partly feeling sorry for him and at the same time relieved.
I felt sorry because I knew how he was feeling. I had been there. The shock would eventually wear off. But still, learning a secret such as that was like a bomb. The person whom you thought you knew was actually someone else.
But the resemblance was too strong, how was that possible? Questions such as this are probably running across his head.

No one would have seen it coming even when they knew who Marcus Zephanie was. Only a person with an insane ability to predict the future could have seen it. Otherwise, Ronald's reaction was more than normal.
