The clock was ticking. Mary Earle was counting every passing minute, wanting this nightmarish torture to come to its end.
'What did I got myself into?'. She can only blame herself even though, she wouldn't have been in this situation if only her mother didn't tell her friend Amber about her needing a new job after quitting her work at Attorney Sy's office. Then, Amber wouldn't have recommended her to Marcus Zephanie.
But was it their fault? Mary could only mentally shake her head.
The mess she was in was none other than entered by her. She could have told Marcus Zephanie no, she didn't want to stay. She could have walked away earlier instead of promising to stick by his side no matter what happened. If she had refused to come with him, she might have been fired and she wouldn't be where she was right at that moment.
