RAFAEL
The smell of frying meat wafted through my nose. It made my stomach grumble. Luck seemed to be on my side. The apartel was empty. However, I can't help the worry rising in the pit of my stomach.
I was partly wondering if Avalyn finished her duty today which was why I had thought that she might be home prior to arriving at the apartel. I was thinking that she might have chosen to go back in here after seeing the news relating to the video clip last night.
I knew that she would rather keep herself busy and would mostly ignore the news article. But, at the back of my mind, I was certain that no matter how much she denied it, she was not okay.
To add, our little misunderstanding did not help. I let out a sigh, placing back my focus in dicing some garlic for the fried rice which I had thought of making at the last minute.
