I was screaming, my throat was almost hoarse. It was all I could do what with Xavier holding me tightly, preventing me from running towards Rafael.
"It's too late," Xavier whispered. I shook my head, denying the inevitable. "It's too late, Ava."
I slowly opened my eyes to the familiar ceiling of Hero's place, my heart aching as the reality hit me once again.
Rafael was gone. My Rafael was gone, forever.

A mechanical hand whir beside Marcus Zephanie, handing him a glass of champagne flute. He smiled broadly accepting the drink which amplified his mood.
"Good morning, Mister Zephanie," the mechanical voice coming from the front seat of the car that he was in greeted him.
"Good morning Cyborg," Marcus stated, answering the AI which was a new addition to the flying cars which Fedilin, the mechanic he had found who was great in machines, had installed.
