"A distress call, Ava," Marcus Zephanie said, locking eyes with me as he settled on the stool available in front of me. We were in his lab and he was trying to make me understand what just happened.
"Is something you do only when you are in dire need of help". He continued while I blinked at him, slowly grasping what he was trying to say.
In the middle of learning how to control my mind ability, I sort of panicked, losing my concentration. Unknowingly, I had sent out a distress call, as Marcus Zephanie had termed it when Amber immediately reported to him that both Shay Zephanie and Xavier had complained about the sudden flash of bright light clouding their vision.
Marcus Zepnaie then had me sit down and told me that I had done something subconsciously and that I needed to understand what it was and make use of it only in important and desperate situations. Otherwise, I needed to control my abilities properly.
