Yoshiro
"Let's take some rest in here for a while." I said as I sat down near a tree.
It's probably morning outside but it is not possible to tell when you are insed the forest of Scelestria. The sun never shines in here. Making the souls of those who neglects Christ wander in the darkness forever trying to search for the light.
I sighed and reached out for my back. My scar is tingling again. It doesn't ache but there's something unexplainable in there. It feels like something used to be in that part of my back but now it's gone.
"Are you okay?" Aki asked as he handed me a bottle of water.
"Yeah. It's just..." I trailed off as I traced the scar on my back. My father told me that I had it when I was three. Aki and I were playing outside near the burning charcoal thinking we are on a camping trip when I fell and burned my back. I can't really remember that happening since I was only three that time but Aki told me that it was true. I actually laughed so hard when he told me he cried so hard while watching me scream in pain.
Aki is the kind of person with a strong personality. He radiates postive vibes. You can only see him cry or make such face once in a blue moon. The guy always smile, making the teen age girls in our town fall for him. But he never entertained any of them. He said he does not need anyone than me and his family. Sounds gay right? But that's just Aki. I looked at Aki who's currently drinking. If it weren't for him I would have totally lost it and go in here alone.
"What? You thirsty?" he asked, offering me a bottled water.
"No thanks. I'm good." I said as I looked up at the dark sky covering the whole forest. "I never knew this day would come."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't think I have ever told you this but I have a vivid memory of my parents conversation when I was a kid. They were talking about him, Lucifer." I lay down on the grass and put my arms over my head. "I already knew that he will soon come after us. Because that is what my mother said. But I didn't knew it will be this early. This is not like the stories I've seen before." I mumbled the last words.
"Of course this is not like any of those stories. This is real life, Yoshi. Things happen when you least expect it to be." He said laughing.
I smiled slyly. True enough. Things happen when you least expect it to be because right after he said that I heard the laugh of a witch coming from the distance.
" They are here. " Aki said.
There are rumors that there are witches guarding this place from outsiders and they are called the Coven's witches. It is said that those who enter the forest will be greeted by the sisters and will be given a test to see if they are worthy to be graced by the sacred tree. I thought they are just made up stories to keep people from entering the forest but I guess the rumors are true and the sisters are real.
"Remember Yoshi, no matter what happens do not believe everything they say to you. Okay?"
And before I could even response to Aki I heard the sisters mumbling a chant.
"Arankar Ultiembre. Arankar Ultiembre." they chanted repeatedly. I could see them smiling as we slowly lose our consciousness. But before I could fully fell asleep I heard one of them saying something.
"Embrace the truth, young child."
When I wake up I was lying in a bed like the one I have in my room back in our town. There's a study table beside the bed and a few paper with notes on it. I picked one up and read the note.
"Dear Mr. Takeshi,
We would like to inform you that this mission is confidential and no one shall ever know about it's existence, even the members of the council. The oracle of the moon told us about the prophecy, the prophecy about the child of Lucifer bringing destruction and chaos to the land of man.
As the strongest successor of the King of the Underworld, Hades. We order you, Takeshi of the Dark souls to contain and protect the child of Lucifer. You shall raise him as one of your own, teach him the way to the land of the Gods, and if the situation calls for it you have the permission to exterminate the subject.
"May the blood of your ancestors guide you."
Sincerely yours,
Elder Drake."
I felt my hand shake as I look over the papers on the table.
" Could it be... "
I looked over the papers, scanned it one by one, and after reading them they all say the same thing.
" Subject D-914 or also known as Yoshiro, should he show any sign of hostility against any member of the clan, the subject shall be exterminated immediately."
My knees wobble. My hands tremble. This can't be true! I am the son of my father, Takeshi. But the note. They were all signed by the same person, Elder Drake. The highest member of the elders. And the oracle of the moon, she can't be lying about it. But I can't be Lucifer's son! My mother loves my father and her family more than anything she couldn't possibly have any affair with Lucifer.
But what if it's the truth? "Embrace the truth, young child." Right! That's what the sisters said. So it's the truth huh. If I am really Lucifer's son and that I will bring destruction and chaos to the land of man, then I guess it is better to just end my life right here. Right now.
I fell on the floor as I reached out for the for the knife I have in my bag. I pointed the tip of the knife in my throat. Even though my hands are shaking I am ready to end my life at this moment. But just as I was about to slash my throat I suddenly heard a voice from the distance.
"Yoshi wake up! Don't let them take control over your body! Wake up!"
Wait, that's right! This is not real! This is the Coven's trial! Wake up you dumb kid. Wake up!
I closed my eyes and let myself to fall asleep again. This is the only way to go back to reality. By accepting the fact that I am his son, the son of Hades strongest successor, Takeshi.
A few seconds later I felt the gushing wind on my face and slowly I opened my eyes only to be greeted by the smiling face of Aki.
"Finally you're back!"
