Susan's POV
"What do you do with a dead chemist?"
My elder brother said, barely holding in his laugh as his face slowly turned red
"I don't know what you do with a dead chemist" I mumbled whilst working with a few wires.
" Barium."
Loud laughs could be heard from the other side of the room which resembled that of the sound produced when you'd turn on your car's windshield wiper.
I gave out a breathy chuckle looking outside the window.
I missed this city.
Seoul. It had surely been a while. 15 years to be exact. It felt like it was just yesterday when I had left the country along with my mother. It had indeed changed a lot.
My parents were divorced. I was 7 when my father revealed that he already had a family of three, besides my mother and I.
Kim Hyeri. My real name had been given to me by my father. However it was no longer in use since I had left Korea. I was now Susan.
Taking up my mother's surname, I was now Susan Smith. Researcher and engineer at World Tech Org. And unsurprisingly, my half brother Kim Seokjin had also been a researcher at the organization even before I joined. We were however in different branches of the organization.
The first ever time I met him was when he recognized who I was and gave me the news of my father who was now declared as deceased after being admitted at the hospital for more than three years. Our father.
It took me a while to get used to the fact that I now had half blood siblings.
My mother made sure that I kept no remanaints of my past with my father or anything related to him. However my passion for science outshone everything else in me and she soon understood that it was ok to let go.
It did leave a big dispute after the head researcher at a leading project- my father - died tragically.
It appeared that the organization had been working on something that had to be kept hidden from the general public and even the other researchers of the organization itself.
All we knew was that it had to do something with the accident which made him go into a severe coma and eventually ended up in death.
His belongings were handed over to Seokjin's family. Not all of them tho. The organization made sure to take away his research journals for 'investigations' and 'research purposes'.
I wasn't asked for. Throughout the entire mourning and the funeral and the fight over the custody of his belongings. I didn't complain. I didn't remember much of him. And it didn't matter.
However all of this did strike an idea in my genius yet idotic scientific nerd brain.
What if the dead could be replaced.
What if all your memories could be successfully transferred into the chip of an AI who had similar thinking capacities as you. It would appear as you never died in the first place!
I sighed in exhaustion as I put away my safety metal mask and the smoldering machine I had been working with a few moments ago.
"You're putting a lot of effort into it, you know right?"
I turned around at the very familiar deep voice. A voice that I had now grown accustomed to.
His voice.
He made his way towards me and put his arms around my waist, even after being aware of the fact that I had been sweating like an animal and probably smelled and looked like one too.
"Yah Taehyung-ah get away from my sister."
Jin said while munching on his sandwich.
Jeez he seems to carry food along with him everywhere. I swear he could pull out food from thin air at any given time.
"Damn right miss." Jin smirked with his mouth full.
Great I said that out loud.
Taehyung chuckled and put his face in the crook of my neck. Sweaty neck.
"Sue..."
He said with a low voice. I felt myself get hot with his breath hitting me and his body vibrating slowly as he spoke.
"Hm?" I said pursing my lips.
"... You need a shower."
He finished and looked up to meet my gaze which were now filled with genuine rage.
I spit out colorful words as I ran after the pabo who had just insulted me after a day's tiering work I had spent on my research.
He soon reached a corner as I neared him threateningly. His boxy smile not leaving him even for a moment.
I charged at him with fury as he easily blocked my useless punches and kicks. As I gave up on wasting energy on him, he suddenly wrapped his hands around me. His chin now resting above my head.
" I guess I'll be needing a shower too. What do you say?" He smirked after fixing my specs as I turn a deep shade of red.

" You know I'm still here right?"
A mad Jin could be heard at a distance.
