In the fall of 1970 it had seemed that the Beatles had truly broken up.

Paul McCartney was forced to sue the other members of the BEATLES and EMI to be able to be released from any business agreements made by Allien Clien.

As for Beatles music in 1969 ABBY ROAD was released and later the re named GET BACK album and film now called LET IT BE was released in April 1970.

The same month Paul McCartney released his first solo album called " McCartney".

In the album was a self written statement telling the world that the BEATLES were broken up.

During that fall George Martin was at EMI Studios working on a song for a APPLE artist BAD FINGER.

During this time he had ran into John Lennon and YOKO ONO while the two were mixing the new single COLD TURKEY.

While it was always George Martins believe that the Beatles still were able to be a working band he asked John if he would conceder making another Beatles album.

To Martins amazement Lennon agreed.
