Chapter 1 - The Potter Twins Reunited
Third Person; Ava Pov:
"Goodbye, Ava, goodbye, Sirius. Have a fun year!" Walburga said before turning and leaving.
"You ready, Ava?" Sirius said as they started walking towards the train. Sirius was an average heightened boy who was pale with grey eyes and had dark hair that stopped at his shoulders. He was wearing skinny black jeans with a black t-shirt. Sirius always wore a black leather jacket, even in the summer. He had his famous black Combat boots on.
Sirius always liked going against his parent's rules.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Ava said. Ava was tall for her age. She had wavy brown/red hair that stopped at about her middle back. Ava had put her hair up in a messy bun. Her eyes were ocean blue. The glasses she wore were black and rose gold. Ava had a white t-shirt and dark green shorts. She had a plaid cardigan that stopped at the back of her knees. She was wearing black Nikes. Ava had always liked wearing muggle shoes.
She was still thinking about what had happened the night before.
"I think we'll find your brother. The Potter families are witches and wizards. You're also twins, so I bet he will be on the train." Sirius said. Ava always got a distant look in her eyes whenever she thought about her brother.
"I hope so." was all Ava could say. Once they got on the train, they searched for a compartment. Sirius was ahead of Ava when it looked like he had found an empty compartment. But Ava found out soon enough that the chamber was indeed not empty.
"Can we sit here?" Ava heard Sirius say. Ava was leaning on the wall the door was on. Ava didn't want to talk to anyone except Sirius. But Sirius never shut up, so she wasn't surprised.
"Yeah, sure. I'm James, by the way, James Potter." the other voice said. James was as tall as Ava. He had jet black messy hair and hazel eyes. James was wearing almost the same pair of glasses that Ava was wearing minus the rose gold. James was wearing navy blue jeans and a dark green t-shirt. He was also wearing the same shoes as Ava.
Sirius looked over at Ava and sighed. Ava was back to thinking about if they're going to find her brother.
"I'm Sirius, Sirius Black. We're friends now." Sirius said. Ava rolled her eyes. She had only heard that part of the conversation. James chuckled.
"Yes, we are! So you said 'can we sit here' who else is with you?" James asked. Ava jumped after she remembered she was with Sirius.
"Oh yeah." Sirius turned to Ava. "I think we found your brother." Sirius smiled.
Ava rolled her eyes. She doubted they were going to find her brother. "Yeah, right. Like James Potter, my brother is in that compartment."
"Were you even listening to us? You know when we were talking?" Sirius said.
Ava chuckled. "'Course not. What do you expect? I'm Ava Potter; I never listen to you." She drug her trunk into the compartment and stored it under the seat.
Sirius put the back of his hand to his forehead and sighed dramatically. "You wound me, Ava."
James laughed at they're childish antics. "Are you two always like this?"
"24/7. All the damn time. He's an idiot. But, it doesn't take long to get used to Sirius. Knowing you, you will."
"So, it's true. Your Ava Potter?" James asked.
"Yes, indeed. I'm guessing you're my brother, James Potter." Ava smiled. "I'm back!"
James tackled Ava in a hug knocking them both to the floor.
"Your back," James whispered in her ear.
"Yep," she said.
Sirius decided he wanted to join, so he jumped on top of James and Ava.
"Ow! Sirius! Get off!" Ava yelled. James was laughing, and Sirius didn't move.
"My sister and brother finally reunited! Family time!" he screeched.
James couldn't stop laughing. "Alright, Sirius, get off of us."
"Fine." Sirius reluctantly got up and sat down on one of the seats. James sat down next to him while Ava sat across from them.
"Alright, how did you two meet?"
"Well," Sirius started, "My parents saved Ava from a muggle house-" he was cut off by a voice at the compartment door.
"I highly doubt that." A boy said. He was tall for his age, even taller than James and Ava, and that's saying something. He had sandy blonde hair and Amber eyes. His clothes were a little big for him and scruffy. He had scars all across his face.
Ava felt like she knew him, but she didn't know from where.
"I'm Remus, by the way, Remus Lupin."
It clicked. Ava finally recognized him.
"I know you!" she jumped up.
"I feel like I know you. But from where I don't know."
"I'm Ava Potter. Remember?"
"Ava! Now I remember! I guess I finally know who took you." he turned back to Sirius.
Sirius held up his hands in defense. "It wasn't me, blame my parents."
"Ok, does everyone know my sister but me? Like, Sirius Black, I'm not surprised, but Lupin, they lived in a muggle town- Oh, right, forgot about that."
"How do you two know each other?" asked Sirius.
"I snuck out one night and found him and his mother out in the forest. We've been friends ever since."
"You snuck out? How many times have you done this?" James asked.
Ava laughed. "A lot. Too many to count."
"Yeah. Oh! Peter, show yourself you don't need to hide."
A round boy came out from behind Remus. He had a mousey face and dirty blonde hair. His eyes were brown. Peter had a plain t-shirt and brown pants. His shoes were all beat up.
"Hi," Peter squeaked, "I'm Peter Pettigrew." He gave them a little wave.
"Well, take a seat! I need to get to know my brothers!" Ava exclaimed.
Peter looked, really confused. "Brothers? We just met." Peter questioned.
"Your friends with my other 'brothers.' After I meet a guy and we become like best friends, they become my brother. Mostly because almost every guy I've met is incredibly protective of me."
"Makes sense," Peter said.
"Almost." Remus pointed out.
Ava sighed. "Yes, almost."
"Parental figures?"
"Nope."
"Guys?"
"Yeah."
"Evans?"
"Yes,"
"Black?"
"Yep,"
"Any others?"
"Not that I remember."
"Alright."
James and Sirius repeatedly blinked their eyes.
"What the fuck?" James asked.
Remus smiled while Ava laughed. They really didn't understand what just happened.
"I guess we should explain," Remus said, taking a seat originally where Ava was.
"I guess," Ava sat next to James by the window before continuing.
"Remus and I have this relationship where he can say something, and I could respond. Then, as you saw, Remus could say one word, and I could answer, knowing exactly what he's talking about."
"We were talking about who hurt her. It's happened to many times, Ava. You should have reported them."
"I know, I know. I'll do it when I'm older. When I have a better chance at beating, they're ass's." Ava kicked her legs onto James's lap.
"Can I come with?" asked Sirius.
"Yes, you can, Sirius. I will need help. The Evans are muggles but, the Black's, that's a different story."
James cleared his voice to get everyone's attention. "Since Remus and Sirius know my sister. Tell me what she's like."
Sirius sighed. "Where do I start?"
The boys and Ava turned their heads to see Lily Evans standing in the door. "Ava's a very Adventurous person who always takes challenges and risks. She can be shy and sweet when she wants to but, truly, she's a wolf. She'll come at you when you least expect it."
"Lily!" Ava immediately jumped up to hug her best friend.
"I can't believe I get to see you again!"
"Ditto."
After Ava released Lily, she sat back down.
"We," Lily gestured between her and Snape, who was behind her. "Are wondering if we could sit here."
"Of course! Take a seat!" Ava said.
James pushed Sirius over so Lily could sit next to him. Snape sat down next to Peter while Lily sat in-between James and Sirius.
"Names James Potter," he said to Lily, putting his arm around her. Lily shrugged it off. Ava and Lily both rolled their eyes at James. Sirius tried not to laugh, Remus was hiding a smile behind a book, and Peter was stuffing his face.
"Lily Evans. Don't get too comfortable, Potter."
"Leave her alone, Potter. She doesn't want you." Snape said.
"Sev!" Lily gasped. "Be nice!"
"Yeah, whatever. Wash your hair, Snivellus. I've decided I don't like you." James crossed his arms and faced away from Snape.
"Come on, Sev, we can find another place to sit." Lily stood and dragged Snape out of the compartment.
"That went well," Remus said, trying extremely hard not to laugh.
That sent Sirius over the edge. Sirius burst out laughing, soon followed by Remus, Peter, and Ava. James did not find it amusing.
Welcome to the rewrite of The Long-Lost Sister of James Potter. The other one was badly written, so I decided to rewrite the story. This feels a lot more real than the first one. Please Vote!
