Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 11 - The Testament

Police transported the two bodies to the morgue while the metallic, light sweet smell of blood had remained in the house as the maids rubbed the floor and walls to clean it. Carl was trying to comfort his father who saw his whole family being destroyed. He would tell his wife to leave Italy and stay here since it was all he had.

Amanda and her family were waiting for the return of Kenton. In other cases it would take days to find evidence to identify the killer, but in this case a young Clifford who would take the economy into his own hands was worth much more than a poor asshole who had nothing to offer. Amanda has not said anything about her life for the past two weeks. She didn't want them to know that shewas looking for the killer, especially that she had killed him. Finally, the mud from her family's name disappeared. Things would calm down and she would marry Carl as the had arranged. Happy end right?

The bell rang and she ran to open the door herself but it wasn't Ken.

-Alfred?

What a Rutherfurd was doing a time like this on their house?

What if they found the forged letters?

-I brought the will. I know that I'm late but it took time.

-Ohh you didn't learn the news?

They found the killer. Hall Bawson. -Yeah I heard. But who knows? Maybe you will find something very interesting.

He winked and a faint smile formed on the edge of his face. He gave her the will and left. What did he know? It was not time for this anyway. Her brother was her top priority right now.

As Kenton was in prison all this time he was learning the developments by paying some guards for newspapers. They were full of fake facts that had nothing to do with reality. It was a lie that on the night of the murder he was constantly leaving the room nor was he overwelmed by debts nor did he admit it every night while he's asleep. Reporters are a bunch of hungry dogs trying to trick people into gaining food and trust. So, many people ended up sending him letters with abusive comments. Even though he could handle it, he could not get over the fact that Elizabeth visited him in prison to break up their engagement and so, he fell into a severe depression. His beard and hair had grown long and he had lost at least 7 pounds. He had spent a lot of time reading the Bible, the only book they were given and became a strong Christian. When he was told he would be released, he prayed and thanked God instead of Carl, Amanda and the money. Even when they explained to him what exactly happened.

His return, however, remained a joyful news and they celebrated it with a small reception. Samantha made sure there was everything he was missing because for a millioner, two weeks in prison was like three years in hard labor for the rest of the people. His father announced he would sign to inherit his first factory in Manchester while he started developing relationships with Anna Westinghouse. Mrs. Rutherfurd would be totally pissed off for having only sons right now.

When the reception was over, Amanda went to her room to read the testament. 10% belonged to the state, the remaining 50% and the mansion to his wife and what was left including the ships to his brother. In case on of the two people past away, the other would take the share completely. But in the end there was something really strange. It was signed by Daniel and Carl Rayan.

She did not waste time. She went to the Bawson's house and entered through the back door. Fortunately, the whole neighborhood was at the funeral of his son. He lost his whole family in the worst ways and there were already rumors that there was a curse that would reach him next.
