Chereads / The Blue Dragons / Chapter 9 - I. Girls

Chapter 9 - I. Girls

After breakfast, the other members left and did their parts sustaining the gang. She saw the oldest female place a pistol in a black bag, and the lavender haired girl followed. Ivory gulped, scared of what would happen, what she'd witness, and what Blue would force her to do.

Ivory hoped that Blue didn't make her become a prostitute.

Hawks and Lucky were sitting in the living room with her, talking about a piece of paper, which had a lot of names and numbers. Cigarette smoke filling the air—making Ivory want to leave the room. Ivory noticed that Blue and Red were nowhere to be found.

Ivory observed the two boys that kidnapped her, seeing that Hawks seemed more of a leader and dangerous, whereas Lucky appeared to be Hawks' partner in crime and the jokester.

Suddenly, three women entered the room; the tall one with curly red hair stood out more than the other two.

Hawks and Lucky looked up and put the paper away, "Roxie," Hawks smiled.

The curly-haired woman smiled. "Hello, you two!" she then noticed Ivory, "And who is this?"

"Oh, that's Ivory."

"She's new," Lucky added.

Roxie smiled and walked over to the smaller girl, fake eyelashes and concealer visible on her face, "Hi, I'm Roxie. The two behind me are Birdie and Swindle H."

The blonde looked to see a long-haired chestnut brunette with brown eyes and a girl with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. The two walked over, the brunette being Birdie and the strawberry blonde as Swindle H.

"We're prostitutes," Swindle H added, pride visible on her face.

"I noticed," Ivory observed their rather provocative outfits. "So, why the nicknames?"

"They're our street names, but fit our personalities," Birdie said. "I am carefree at times, hence the name Birdie —"

"— and a bit of an airhead," Swindle H added, causing Birdie to slap the back of her strawberry blonde head. Roxie and Ivory laughed.

Swindle gave a cheeky grin. "As for me, I'm a bit of a prankster. I love fooling people, including my clients. I can teach you if you'd like."

"I'll pass."

"Suit yourself."

"What job did Blue assign to you?" Birdie asked.

"I don't have a job. I've never worked a day in my life."

"You've got to do something."

"We don't trust her yet," Hawks narrowed his eyes at Ivory. "She saw us out on the job."

"That's your fault," Ivory rolled her eyes, causing the taller boy to sneer at her, but he said nothing.

Roxie thought for a moment. "Well, we need to give her a nickname, you know."

"How about smartass?" Hawks suggested through gritted teeth.

Ivory smirked while the women laughed.

"I was thinking Little Lady," Lucky said.

"And why would I want that nickname?" Ivory sneered.

Lucky smirked. "You're petite, and you're also the youngest." Ivory sneered. "Besides the attitude problem that you have, you carry yourself nicely."

All the girls but Ivory thought for a moment before talking in unison about how they like the nickname. Ivory quietly groaned, knowing that Lucky gave her the said nickname to anger her.

"So, Ivory, we decided that since you're new, we can show you our job," Roxie said. "You have to work eventually, and you need to know all of the jobs available. Blue will then choose what he thinks will suit you best."

"But aren't all the other girls' prostitutes?"

"Harley and Lily aren't, but they've tried it to try it, you know? Besides, I have a set of full-time prostitutes that are tied to the gang."

Ivory gagged, "No way am I becoming a prostitute."

"You don't have too, but you have to see how we run things around here. Come on, up with you," Roxie said.

She got up and followed the three outside and into a white car, driving at least ten minutes from base. They stopped at some old looking building at the end of a neighborhood, and walked inside, seeing it entirely furnished and renewed. A few offices and a living room were on the first floor while upstairs, there were bedrooms with locks on the outside and sealed shut windows, holding girls from the ages of thirteen and older. Ivory was shown the bathrooms that the girls shower in, twice a day, once in the morning and the second at night, and the special pills they used to stay protected and to make sure they weren't pregnant.

Ivory saw some younger women her age at the desks, talking to customers on the phone, making appointments for certain girls, and prices for their time with the girl of their choice. Everything made the newest Blue Dragon's member uncomfortable. All of the girls had a dull look to them as if they lost their lives purpose long ago. The girls didn't look at Ivory, nor did they say a word to her. Ivory felt horrible and hoped that she doesn't end up like any of them. Although, she wondered how the locals didn't suspect anything suspicious about the building.

After Roxie, Birdie, and Swindle H showed her the facility, and the basement that was turned into a bar and the few private rooms, Ivory decided to go back to base and make it a mission not to become a prostitute. She wanted to clean every day until Blue trusted her enough to do something else. Ivory felt that the prostitutes were either naive or girls that Blue didn't like. The women went back to base and entered the dining room, where Blue and Red and Spike talked. Harley and Lily stood by the hallway, Lily laughing as Harley rolled her eyes.

Red noticed them right away. "You showed her your base?"

The three nodded as Blue smirked at Ivory. "What do you think, Ivory?"

"I think I would rather clean," she shrugged.

Then, she noticed that Hawks and Lucky weren't anywhere to be found. She began to wonder where they went until she heard a familiar voice, "Help me, somebody!" The voice shouted.

Ivory's eyes widened, knowing who the voice belonged to. She tried to run to the door but was quickly pulled back by Red, whose grip on her arms tightened. The door opened to reveal Hawks and Lucky with a man carrying someone on his shoulder. Ivory gasped, seeing that on his shoulder was Viper.

Ivory observed the man and was sure that she'd seen him somewhere. Shock hit her as she realized as she saw his photo in Manhattan once. It was Fox, the famous killer that was never caught, but that artists have sketched and posted their portraits of him throughout New York. Though he doesn't look as identical to the drawings of him, Ivory just noticed because she's observant.

Now she really knew the ties that the Blue Dragons had strung together. Fox removed Viper from his shoulder quickly, and she landed on the floor, but it didn't seem to faze her as she shot right up.

"Who do you think you are kidnapping me?" she shouted.

He pushed her. "Shut up, or I'll blow your brains out!" He hollered.

The men stiffened while Blue and Red seemed unfazed. Lily looked nervous while Harley's face showed boredom. Ivory tried to get Red's hand off of her arm, but he didn't budge.

"Who's this, Fox?" Viper turned to see Blue sneering at her.

The others stared at her with shock. No one ever disrespected Fox.

"This is the other girl, Blue," Hawks glared at Viper, answering for Fox.

She glared at him. "I have a name. You should say it."

The purple-haired women sent each other smirks as the men sneered. Hawks narrowed his eyes at her while Blue looked ready to beat her up. Red shook his head but stifled a laugh, grip still in place as Ivory tried to remove his large hands off her smaller arms.

Hawks slapped Viper, who fell to the floor, holding her bloody lip. Ivory turned away, she couldn't believe Hawks hit Viper. She'd never seen a man do that in her life.

This got the men laughing, and she snarled at him.

"It seems that you've never been taught manners," The lavender haired girl said. "Harley," Lily turned to the dark purple-haired girl, "Don't you think you should teach her how to keep quiet?"

"Look how skinny she is. It would be weak of me to beat someone less than half my size."

Viper looked away from Harley. Ivory looked confused; Viper had never been so quiet. Ivory then noticed how big Harley was. She had a lot of muscle but was still smaller than the men. Ivory sensed that she was an endomorph; Viper was an ectomorph. Viper stood no chance with anyone in the room.

"That would explain why her mouth is so big," Spike said slowly, leering at Viper.

Viper gulped.

"Viper!" Ivory was freed from Red's grasp, and the two hugged each other tightly as if they hadn't seen each other in years.

"Ivory!" Viper smiled, releasing her grip off of her best friend. "Did they hurt you?"

"No, they didn't. I'm fine."

Red grabbed Ivory again, and led her to the living room as Hawks and Fox took Viper downstairs.

Blue, however, smirked quietly.
