The second Nathan got home he crash on to his bed and smiled with happiness. He didn't believe today he met his wife. He felt that if he closed his eyes it would all stayed as a beautiful dream.
He looked up at the ceiling and closed his eyes in bliss. Just remembering everything that happened today made him smile but also made he think about how he missed all this.The memories kept on flooding in.
Her angry words and insults towards him. Her painful expression after she said them. Her action that bothered him the most. The infuriating times he snapped at her without knowing the truth. Her sad expression when she gazed at him. The ever so lonely smile that she had when she stood alone in the garden. The nights where he believed that he was hated for longest time.
Everything suffocated him.
Nathan didn't know he if he was just blind or not. How could he possibly missed her loving expression? He wondered what clouded his judgment.
Nathan fell asleep in bed remembering all the memories he regret. He then cane to a scene that he never knew before.
Nathan looked at the two people in the dream. One was his brother Eli and the other was his wife.
"Sister!! Why are you not telling him anything?" Eli groaned in frustration.
Nathan was shocked to see his pale wife sitting on the hospital weak and skinny. Her body lost weight and her cheek were hollow.
"Eli your such a kind soul. I can't tell him the truth, because once I do they will $@$&59@-" her words were cut off by something and he couldn't hear it.
'Wife... what were you trying to say...' Nathan looked at the two of them quietly.
"Sister... but you only have a week before the poison reaches your heart. Why did it have to be you?" Eli clenched his fist as he sat on the hospital chair with his head down.
Katelyn patted his head softly, "In life you'll never know what will happen to you. I'm already glad enough that I married him once. Eli you have to watch him for me. Your brother has feelings for me but was to stubborn to confess. That why I pushed him away before he got the chance."
"Sister... why? If only they-"
"Eli, what is done is done. Even I'm to tired to fight anymore. Maybe it's a good thing that god is showing me mercy-"
"SISTER!! Don't you ever say that!!!" Eli anxiously held her fragile hand.
"I know!! I knew you acted like that to brother on purpose!! I know mother and father hated you!! I knew you were dying a long time ago!! But I couldn't do anything because.. I- I-"
"Eli you couldn't have done anything. I been like this for 5 years. I know my body better than anyone. I can't be saved anymore." She smiled.
Eli broke out into tears and held her hands very tightly.
Nathan never knew that his younger brother would be like this. He remembered that his brother always defended Katelyn and that they had a very close relationship.
But he never knew the reason was for this.
"Sister... if you leave I will definitely give your box to brother.. I don't care what you say.." Leo spoke with determination.
"Alright.." Katelyn said but she broke out into loud coughs. Her mouth started having blood come out startling both of them.
Nathan rushes over to hold his wife. But the second his hands touched her in went past her. He was shocked and looked down at his shaking hands.
"Katelyn!!!" Nathan yelled.
Eli pressed the emergency button and soon a rush of doctor and nurse came into the room to check on her.
Nathan blankly watch on the side as they rush Katelyn out of the room.
Eli was no different as he stood their watching Katelyn being rushed away.
"Brother your such an idiot. But sister is more of an idiot too." Eli said out loud.
"Are you happy now? Sister said she left you because she didn't want to be a burden to you or even bound you to her because you loved her. But brother you where too late. So late that I almost wanted to punch you. Because of you she had this.
Because of you she had been poison by $@&@67!!
She even accepted all the insults and taunts form everyone." Eli looked at him.
"Eli..." Nathan called out.
"I really wished that you didn't hurt her..." Eli walked away from him leaving him in the dark dream.
Nathan tried to stop him but then the scene changed once again.
This time it was at the apartment Katelyn resided at after they divorced.
He saw Eli rush in again and walk upstairs to the room Katelyn stayed in. He kicked the door open and found the pale Katelyn clenching her body from pain in the floor.
Her pills were spilled onto the ground far away from her.
"Sister!!" Eli called our to her. He pulled he up into his arms and called out to her.
"Eli... I- I- can't see.. where are you?... Eli.. why is it so dark..." she called out in shaking breaths. She tried to reach out to him.
"Sister!!! I'm here!! I'm right in front-" Eli was widened as her hand fell down limped.
He was devastated and called out to her screaming as tears fell down.
"Katelyn!!! Katelyn!! KATELYN!!!" He tried to shake her but she didn't respond.
Nathan felt his face stained with tears. His wife pasted away just like that in the arms of his younger brother.
Eli picked up the body of Katelyn and walked out of her room. He looked around and saw the medical team he brought entering the apartment now.
"Doctor she-" another Doctor said.
"She's gone. Were to late." Eli put Katelyn in the stretcher and touched her face his eyes moved to her hands and saw that she was tightly holding onto something.
He gently took and found that it was written to his brother.
"In the end you still thought about him.. your a fool sister.. a man like him should never been your first love..." Eli said clenching the letter.
Nathan watched everything as a slow movie. He never knew... he never cared... he was never told anything...
Nathan's dream stopped right there. The whole place turned black and he couldn't see anything anymore. All he could remember was the scene of Katelyn's death.
"Nathan, let's get a divorce." Katelyn blankly said.
Nathan looked at the new scene with lost eyes.
"It's just not gonna work out anymore. Look we're not compatible at all-"
"Katelyn!! Stop!!" He grabbed her shoulders anxiously but once again felt his hands slip through her.
He turned around and saw that she was talking to the old him.
"Fine" he signed the divorce papers and gave them to her.
Nathan felt his heart break again. He remembered that after he signed the papers he closed his heart to everyone and never believed in love again.
He watched himself walk away and then looked at the crying Katelyn. She was clenching her fist so hard that blood started to flow from her palm.
"Isn't this what you wanted Katelyn?"'she said to herself.
"Eli was right. I'm such a fool. I'm sorry Nathan for breaking your heart. But it's for the best. I give you my blessing so that you have a better life starting from now on." She said.
"Katelyn.." he reached out once again but before he could reach her face everything turned black once again.
