Aureate walked through the palace walls. She was the daughter of the queen of the plants, though, her real mother died while Aureate was just a sprout. She barely remembers her real mother, but her stepmother has been the best her mother could've ever been. Her mother and father love her very much, and so do...most of the townspeople. Some are unforgiving at her for being different. You see, Aureate was born different than most sunflowers. First, she was princess, so some envy her,
and second, she had beautiful, glowing petals, and a glowing body. She was gorgeous, and that's what made some hate her. Aureate wore a white tiara with a short white poncho (with a hood) that reached the middle of her stem. "Aureate, you need to greet the new villagers!" Her father, a night -cap named Quynn, called. "Coming, father!" She responded, and she picked up the pace to take place beside her father. They were now in the throne room. "Everyone, meet my daughter, Aureate." Quynn said while Aureate gave a small wave and a smile. There was a kernel corn, a chomper, a snapdragon, and a peashooter. "Hello, m'lady." The kernel corn greeted her. "Nice 'o meet ya." The chomper said. The snapdragon just smiled at her, but the peashooter didn't say anything and avoided eye contact. "What are everybody's names?" Aureate asked. "Buckwheat." The corn said. "My name be Bitey." The chomper grinned. "My name's Flare." The snapdragon beamed.
"And yours?" She looked at the peashooter. The peashooter looked back at her. He was wearing a mask over a part of his face. "Pea." He muttered. "My name's Aureate. It's nice to meet all of you, and I hope you find pleasures within our kingdom." Aureate beamed. Once the room cleared, Aureate asked for a word with the peashooter. "Dad, can we be alone, please?" She asked her father. "Alright. Just be safe, okay? That guy looks kind of shady." Her father responded and left the room. "Pea, are you feeling welcome here? You don't have to stay, you know.." She approached the peashooter. The throne room was a big room with a red carpet down the middle and three thrones around the back of the room. "It's not your business. I don't even know you." He shot back. Aureate was taken aback. "Alright, then. You may go now." She said, and turned around to leave when the peashooter called her back. "Sorry.. I shouldn't have snapped at you." He apologized. She smiled. "It's alright! Just know that if you don't want to be in the town, you're always welcome here. I know how harsh the townspeople can be sometimes, so just wanted to let you know!" She beamed. "Now, you may go." Before the peashooter left, he glanced over his shoulder. Aureate was walking through one of doors on the wall, and left the throne room. He exited through the double doors to meet the other new villagers outside.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked them. "We were just waiting for you, and another friend of ours." Flare responded.
"Another?" He thought out loud. "Yes, another. She should be here right about.. now!" Buckwheat said, and an acorn hopped up onto the palace steps and where the group was standing. She was a blue acorn, so she stood out a little more. "Hey, everybody! What's happenin'?" She greeted them. "We wanted you to meet our new pal, Pea." Buckwheat glanced towards Pea. "Hello.." Pea mumbled. "Hey there, shy fellow! Why the mask?" The acorn hopped up to him. Pea didn't expect her to get so close. "Em.. it's personal.." He said and inched away. "Fine, then. My names' Americe. Now then, how about I show you lot around town?" Americe offered, and they excited the palace gates and into the town. "This here is the tavern. It's where plants com' an' go to get a drink and socialize." She said. "This here is the club. You usually com' here to find a partner, sing, or dance. You can also stop by for a drink here, if you got the coin for it." Peashooter looked around. "Is there a bouncer to this club?" Pea asked. "Yes, there is, he's jus' off duty right about now." Americe said and they continued down the road. "Here's the restaurant. You can come here to eat food. You can bring up to 7 others here." As she spoke, Pea saw something out of the corner of his eye. He glanced over, but there was nothing there. "This is the furniture shop! You lot might wan' buy some stuff 'here so you can move in your house, hm?" Americe said. "Down the road is the grocery shop an' the villager's houses. There's also 'ome scenery 'ere near the woods, but be careful, for there be an unstable cliff in those parts." She warned them. "Can we get 'oodfth now?" Bitey asked. "You mean food, 'ight?" Americe double-checked. "Yes." Bitey responded. "Then how about we head to the tavern? It'll be on me." Americe offered. "Are you sure you would do that, Americe?" Flare asked. "Yeah, no problem for you lot!" She grinned. "Then let's go!" Buckwheat said and they began to run uphill. Once they reached the tavern they entered and sat at the barstools. "How about some root beer all around, hm?" Americe told the tavern keeper the order. "Comin' right up." The barkeeper, a night cap, said. "I've got a joke!" Flare announced to the group. "Let's hear it." Buckwheat said. "Why did the snapdragon cross the road? To burn the zombies!" She grinned. Nobody laughed. "Where's the punch line?" Buckwheat asked. "I'll give you a punch line!" Flare snarled and dove at Buckwheat. "No fighting in my tavern! If you do it again, I'll have no choice but to kick you out!" The barkeeper separated them and threatened the group. "Sorry, Nick. Didn' mean it." Americe replied somberly. She gave the two 'the look', and began to speak. "Hey, Pea, aret you okay? Yout haventt touched your roo' beer." Bitey asked him while Americe was talking to the other two. "Yeah, I got to go. Thanks for taking me out." Pea excused himself and left the bar. He walked towards the alleyway the club was in, and saw the same shadowy figure. "Hey! Show yourself!" Pea challenged it. The shadow turned around. He couldn't make out the shape, because the shadow jumped away from the alleyway and onto a roof, then began to keep running. Pea enabled hyper (or Pea Suped), and ran after it. Eventually, he caught up and tackled the shadow, causing both of them to fall over and off the rooftops. The shadow kicked him in the face and continued to run, when pea grabbed onto it's legs and pulled off the cloak it was wearing. It was Aureate, the plant princess. "A-Aureate!?" He didn't let go of the sunflower. "Let go! I can't let anybody see me here!" She shot him in the face, which caused his mask to come off. The peashooter had a white birthmark on the side of his face that lead up to his eye. Aureate stopped what she was doing and helped Pea up. "You're like me... you're different.." She said while looking at the birthmark. Pea looked her in the eye, "I'm afraid the townspeople will make fun of me if anybody finds out.." Aureate looked at him back. "It's Alright, Pea. You needn't hide yourself. "She grinned, "Just don't tell anybody you saw me here." Pea nodded. "Agreed. Just what are you doing, anyways?" He queried, And Aureate made a motion for him to follow her. They jumped over rooftops until they ended up at a weird part in town. "Where are we?" He asked as she kept pressing different spots of the wall of the alleyway they were standing in. "My secret hideout.." She responded, then there was a small beeping noise, the wall moved aside, and in there was a hallway. "Come, now! We mustn't take much longer." She smiled, and then headed inside as the wall behind shut.
