Mark entered the Clinic, without paying even an ounce of attention to the doctor he hurriedly ran towards the bed and placed Lakshman on it, watching the scenario before him the young RMP was stunned.
Mark grabbed the first aid kit on bedside, ripped cotton to small pieces, with his own bloody hands he started wiping blood off Lakshman's ankle.
The young man standing 3 feet afar couldn't just allow his clinic to be treated as a teen voluntary medical camp so he grabbed cotton off Mark's hands, threw it into dustbin.
Mark was enraged, he shouted " What the hell are you doing?"
The young doctor rolled his eyes. This kid has the audacity to ask such a question.
"What the hell are..... you doing?" he gave Mark a mean look.
"Trying to infect him with those germs on your hands? His wounds will worsen"
He quickly rummaged through the kit and grabbed scissors, cotton, H2O2, anti septic. Mark understood what the man meant and he sat at the edge of bed. Touching the victim's forehead he said "He didn't swallow water"
Even after being in water for 3 min plus the pain by those thorns. He clenched his teeth hard and endured. Struggled to get rid of wild weeds but couldn't escape. All he could do was to save his lungs some breath til he's rescued.
Luckily Mark happened to bring him to surface at the right time.
He slowly breathed and expanded his lungs which were contracted to no further underwater. If not for that he would've swallowed sea water.
As a professional, the doctor's hands moved quickly ripping Lakshman's pants, after he's finished he said "That's a good thing. If not his body couldn't take it."
Mark didn't understand "What do you mean by he couldn't take it"
He said "He's poisoned by weeds"
"Weeds are poisonous? Will he die?"
The doctor rolled his eyes and said "By poison I mean weed thorns are dug deep into his legs which led to acids produced by weed enter his body."
Mark is shocked, he never heard something like this before.
"It's not dangerous, the concentration of acid is mild." Mark somewhat relaxed. "How should I explain this to Ram?" He thought.
After treating the wounds to some medicine, he dressed it. Just then some people carried a middle aged woman shouting "Doctor help! She's bitten by a snake"
The young doctor quickly wrote a prescription and handed it to Mark. He then moved the patient to a separate room in the backside. Crowd that carried her here are now scattered leaving only a man who seemed to be her husband.
Today Mark received too many shocks that his brain is about to explode. He thought "Damn! Sea is very dangerous."
He sat on the bed feeling dizzy. He lowered his head to look at the victim. Mark is feeling uncomfortable, he dragged Lakshman to the beach even though Ram said not to go. He didn't know how to tell Ram about this.
He kept staring at Lakshman, he looks like he's having a nightmare. He fisted his hand and it's trembling. Mark knew that he often have nightmares while crashing at his place. Ram would come and check him often during night, even when he's preparing for his entrance exams he would sit by Lakshman's bedside.
Mark saw him holding Lakshman's hands, he thought it was funny. "He's major already and still have nightmares??" What he saw next became his most unforgettable memory.
Lakshman sat up on bed, deep in sleep, he was crying. Ram springed forward and hugged his younger brother. He eventually stopped weeping and leaned on Ram's shoulders. For Mark in eighteen the scene infront of him was strange. He crashed here many times. Why has he never seen him like this?
Mark's hand involuntary moved and patted his right hand. He looks troubled. Mark thought of waking him up. Just then with a sudden jerk Lakshman sat up on bed startling Mark. His eyes are closed, complex expressions are on his usually lively face.
He looks like he was about to cry. Mark is now troubled, he already made such a mistake, now he could only do one thing. He moved to sit close, extended his hands and hugged Lakshman. His hands are pressing against his back. Neither patting nor caressing just some constant pressure. Mark could hear the breathing on his left ear, which is ticklish. He laughed faintly.
Lakshman is stable now. His uneasiness is replaced with comfort. "Ram" with the last bit of his consciousness he said.
When Mark heard this his back is frozen. He felt a little weight on his shoulder. He didn't know what to do, so he just let him lie like this. He's stiff and didn't even move a centimeter in fear of waking him.
After a while Mark gently moved his head off the shoulder and put him in comfortable sleeping position. With prescription in his hands he ran towards the medical store.
When he arrived at the clinic panting , the doctor is checking Lakshman's temperature. The little exercise he just did cleared his mind. He decided to inform Ram and dialed his number. He explained everything and told him the location of the clinic.
After attending the call, Mark stood up from the chair, he felt dizzy but he's stubbornly still standing. Finally his legs gave out and he collapsed.
"Thud" damn I can't move my legs.
The doctor then saw Mark's hands. They were bloody. "Oh shit! You're poisoned too?? What should I do? Why didn't you tell me before"
Mark's eyes were about to be shut. He whispered "what?"
"You're poisoned idiot."
"You said its not dangerous" mark said and collapsed.
"That's because I gave him disinfectant"
Mark is unconscious now. The doctor sighed and moved him to the bed beside Lakshman.
