I woke up to the sound of Ava's voice
"Min, wake up. I think the Callosal mutant is getting closer to us."
I could hear the Colossal mutant screaming out. I packed my things while Ava does the same thing for whatever she still has.
"Let's go."
We went out of the store and rode on the hovercycle to who knows where now. After hours and hours of spending the day going around the edge of the city. While doing this we talked about what had happened to us after we were separated from each other.
"So that's what happened."
Ava had a smile on her face.
"Uh, Ava? Are you enjoying my suffering?"
"What! No no no! I'm just glad you're safe."
When I heard that, I was happy. It's been a long time since anybody has cared about me since it started.
"Well anyway, the mutants surrounded the whole city. There isn't even a single dent for the path out of the city." I said
"Why can't you just kill them with your power?"
"Even if we do that there are too many mutants, they'll just rush at us covering the path we made and eat us alive all around us. Also, we have to worry about the wall that's covering the whole city."
"Where are we supposed to go now? We can't get the hell out of this city because of the mutants."
"We're going to have to find the source of the problem."
"Which is?"
"The building where you came out from."
"You're kidding right Min?"
"Also I'm pretty sure the building I was at wasn't the primary base and no I'm not we're going to have to go back in. Even though you said the Callosal tita- I mean mutants eat the whole building it doesn't mean that the inside of the building is gone. "
"What?"
"I'm saying that the interior of the building hasn't been touched by the colossal mutant yet. And from what I heard from you I don't even think it isn't a normal mutant anymore but an organism that gathered mass from all of the mutants. We didn't see any mutants at all next to the colossal mutant. There weren't any mutants besides the ones at the edge of the city and a lot of them at that too. Wait, I should be calling it something else then."
"So a new mutant?
"Yep."
"Whelp here I go into that hell. Also, forget about the name."
We rode back to where Ava came from.
"Oh right, do you remember when I told you about the person who was in the cell?"
"Yeah?"
"It probably refers to the people that were working on the experiments where you came from."
We both became silent for a while.
"There is no way."
"I think so too. Probably was referring to the mutants that had humans inside of them that were sticking out."
*2 hours later*
After 2 hours we finally made it to the building which you can't even call anymore. It was completely covered up. We both looked at the building.
"Hmm Hey Min."
"Yes?"
"Would you say that this is beautiful and disturbing at the same time?"
"Yeah, I would say so also."
When we got there it was full nature although there weren't any animals there flowers were growing, trees sprouting out of nowhere. It started to look like the beautiful scenery of a forest. The bad thing is we know that the whole forest is made up of mutants and people and this new mutant is nature itself.
"Are we going in there?"
"Yep, there's no choice if we're going to escape this city or at least get a clue on how we're going to get out of this place."
I went in first before Ava did. Going through I saw more clearly what it's made of. I saw hands that were mushrooms, Heads that were rocks. Tree roots that were sticking looked like pulsating veins. I looked back to see Ava catching up to me who headed in first.
"Hold on Min."
I stopped for Ava. While waiting I asked Levin a question.
'Do you sense any mutants?'
'Master they're everywhere
'Yeah, I know that one's obvious. I mean if they're any other mutants that haven't been fused or aren't part of this place.'
'There is none as of right now.'
'Why did you mean by right now?'
'There may be mutants inside that are just far enough for me to sense.'
After my question was answered Ava caught up to me. We continued walking together. After a few minutes of walking since the hovercycle wouldn't fit through I finally saw the entrance.
"Hey uh, Min?"
"Yeah?"
"Where did we come in?"
"Well, obviously we came in from-"
I looked back to see that where we came from was blocked off. It was getting blocked off slowly closing in on us
"Ava we're going to have to go quick. Right now!"
I grabbed a hold of Ava's arm and ran. But unexpectedly Ava carried me on her back like a bag. No really like...a...bag. Ava ran towards where I shouted where the entrance was. I looked back to see tree roots which are pulsating veins looking at us as if it was going to suck our life away.
"Ava put me on your shoulder"
Ava put my legs on her shoulder with her muscular arm. I turned to the tree roots and pointed at them with my arm ready to shoot. Levin came out of my hand turning into Shooting Mode. Levin took out the blood that I could feel through the veins of my arm. Levin charged himself up and shot out condensed electricity as last time. It missed the tree roots.
"Damn they missed."
More and More tree roots started to come out.
'Master I can do a widespread but attack I'll take more blood.'
"It's fine, take it. I don't even think I have my original blood either way."
Levin takes more blood. I could start to see blood running through me but this time my arm was sparking with "Electric." Shooting out it was not condensed at all instead it went everywhere where the roots were.
Shooting at a wide space the roots fell while the space that was left went back to slowly closing up. We entered the building. Inside there was enough light for us to see.
"See I told you that the inside wasn't infected yet"
Whilst saying that the entrance closed up and now there was very dim light.
"...Sh*t."
