Chapter 1 - Death Awaits

Patiently waiting inside the rustic café was a lady with fair skin and blonde hair that radiated the sun's aura. She tucked her loose hair back into her ear as she cupped the cup of latte that she had ordered. having the pungent smell of coffee waft into her nose—Eloise Albrecht, drank the warm liquid that was served by a new face.

An hour had already passed, but Charles has yet to show his perfectly-sculpted face to her lovely girlfriend.

"Sorry I'm late, Eloise!"

'Speak of the devil…'

Eloise grimaced at the sight of his exhausted boyfriend whose hair was drenched in sweat. His white long-sleeve shirt was crinkled; and peeking out from his neck was a visible red mark—a hickey to be exact. Furious at the sight, Eloise slammed the latte that she had been drinking into the table which made the liquid teeter, almost spilling into the mantled table.

"My volleyball club held me up."

Blah blah blah blah blah, was all Eloise could hear after the ready-made excuses that Charles had prepared. For the past two years that they have been dating, Charles had never been punctual to their dates, it was always Eloise who did everything for their relationship. She would always arrive early before the agreed time, she would always smile when his boyfriend can't accompany her home and lastly, she paid for the food that Charles ordered.

But today was different—after being invited by Charles to a café near the school, Eloise had made up her mind to break up with him. Her boyfriend had the guts to take her out when she saw him kissing someone in their class.

"Let's break up!" Eloise smiled but deep within her turquoise eyes, there was a turbulent ocean and a raging storm.

"Wait—"Charles grabbed her understanding girlfriend's hand on the table, looking her in the eyes—"If I ever did something wrong…just tell me, I don't want to lose you…"

Inside Eloise's head, she was about to break this man's career of being a cheating bastard. She calmed herself before smiling, as to not scare off Charles, but then again—Eloise was planning to break up with him so why not break the caring and angelic facade that she had been wearing.

The corner of Eloise's pink lips curled into a villainous smile that she had been wanting to let out. "Charles,"—she says, pausing for a dramatic effect—" I've endured all your lies to me, but even a saint will run out of patience. I've ordered one of my father's men to find what you've been up to, and guess what I found. Your body against my classmate's face, how lewd."

Charles's face immediately became pale at seeing the opposite persona of the girl he dated, his dark brown eyes quivered as he sweated bullets on his face. The person whom he is looking at was no angel but a devil in sheep's clothing, but even after knowing that he still had the balls to turn it into a joke.

"I like this side of you, babe." he grinned, licking his lips like a pervert.

'Don't you babe me…you treacherous twat!'

Eloise decided to play his game and stepped on his foot with the sharp edge of her high-heels. A scream erupted from Charles as he staggered into the floor, earning him a disgusted and annoyed look from Eloise.

"We're over Charles, don't ever call me 'babe' or you'll get a taste of my fists."

"But babe—"

A swift punch landed on Charles's face before he could even finish his sentence. It was enough to shut his mouth and his petty attempts to get Eloise back. He had his chance, but he ruined it—miserably.

"Happy Valentine's Day, you rotten piece of shit! I hope you meet Hades in hell!"

She walked to the door of the cafe—pausing before lifting both of her hands and showing her middle fingers to Charles with an angelic smile. Pictures of Charles and his new girl spread into the floor when Eloise threw it all over the place.

There were no tears neither anger coming from Eloise, she was finally free from the grasp of his now ex-boyfriend. She took a deep breath before letting it all out as she momentarily admired the crimson sunset that expressed how she felt. Victorious.

One thing about Eloise was she was the daughter of a rich man—she wasn't spoiled, unlike her sisters. She learned to lick the end of a sharp knife, instead of the silver spoon. She had the looks, the grades, the athletic abilities that she earned through hard work but despite all that, she is just a naïve and innocent college student who's easily swayed by love.

Displaying the brave front earlier made Eloise embarrassed and guilty to the point where her cheeks had emitted a rosy color.

Moving her feet to the click of her heels, she saw a black cat down the alley. Its eyes were like the ever faint glowing moon, tender and cool—pulling her into a trance. She followed after the cat who beckoned for her to come with him.

A flash of blinding light made Eloise cover her turquoise eyes. She looked around searching for the cat, but much to her surprise it vanished into thin air and the only clue she had was the white light at the end of the dark alley. She was slowly doubting her sanity and blaming the excessive projects.

'Maybe I've been sleeping too late that I'm hallucinating in broad daylight...'

Deep in her stomach, something was telling her to walk towards the light but her mind was telling her to go back. And like all people who want to taste adventure—her curiosity got the better of her as she went into the light.

Her eyes widened at the sight she saw before her, it was the same café that she had recently walked out from—for her to arrive back, after going in a linear path made her wary and confused.

At the front of the café, there sat the black cat—leisurely licking its pink paws as it paused for a second to look at Eloise before turning its head to the side with a meow.

Eloise slowly traced the direction but by the time she saw the luxurious black car heading to her way. It was too late, her body was dragged into the ground where her head hit the hard surface. Blood trickled down into the floor as she uttered.

"Fuck."

'It seems like I'll be the one going to hell…'
