Mr Lin responded with a sigh, "Furen….take out all the taels we have!"
Heeding to her husband's words, Mrs Lin went in fetch of the taels. Soon after a while, she came back with several taels on her hand.
It was a handful of silver taels.
Seeing it, Mr Lin stated with disappointment, "This....won't be enough! We have to sell our Farmland, perhaps we will make some gold taels out of it!"
Since they have no other choice, hence, Mrs Lin agreed to it.
As it was decided, Mr Lin then started notifying his fellow farmers about selling their farmland.
From one ear to another, everybody in Shanjin had come to know that Lin's family are selling their farmlands. Therefore, the peoples who knew about it came to Lin's family to buy it. Some has left unable to afford the price.
Among them, one of Mr Lin's friend came to inquire about the price.
As soon as he entered Lin's family, Mr Lin greeted him warmly.
