Chapter 14 - What Is God?

Now I'll go a little off topic but still, I hope everyone can understand it. (It still has a connection with your studies.)

Now we may ask ourselves, "What is god?" Some say it's someone whose superior to humans, some say that they believe in it, but only worship God when they're in need and some don't even believe in this.

My definition of God is- A god is an emotion, devotion, or something we can lean upon. I don't think an atheist needs to be a part of any religion. What are religions? Hindu, Muslim, Buddhism, and Christianity? No, not really(At least for me). Religion is when you not only stay true to yourself gbut also be loyal to others When you don't steal or abuse people (verbally or physically) When you are kind to everyone equally. Not only to others but also to yourself.

No matter what anyone says, God is a universal image, it's something or someone whom you can ask anything for without any hesitation, whom you can scold without any hesitation. You can lose faith in it completely or indulge in it deeply. God is not the same as a human being. Come on, Can you actually do all these things to other people? You parents? Siblings? Teachers? You might be able to, but at some point, you can't give the exact treatment to a person that you give to a god.

Science says it doesn't exist. I say it exists because it's my own belief. Just like I said, It's an emotion inside you. How? Like so, when you fall in love...Can you see the emotion? No, but you can feel it. To be able to fall for someone, to be able to be upset or happy, you first need to believe that this particular emotion exists so that you can feel it inside you.

You don't have to see God as an image. It can be an emotion, a spirit, your imaginary friend, or just anything.

I repeat, if you don't believe in God, in tough times, you'll feel all alone. Even if you have millions of people around to help you. You cannot be as open to someone as you can be to God. When you cry, you believe that he's there, watching you. He'll let everything pass.

If you don't believe in this entire thing. You'll feel very alone deep inside. Why? Because human beings are designed in such a way that you can't stay all alone in an empty world, all alone, even if you are an introvert. Introverts also need some people whom they can be with. Just the difference is that they don't want to be with a crowd involving millions.

Believing in this and not doing it, your own choice. I won't force you. I just want to tell you that no matter what you do, it's still something we believe will make everything goes right.

Now, I want to tell the people who are very devoted to God, especially students, It's not a PASSION. It's an OBSESSION. You can't be so much into God and devotion and you forget your career. Work is also a supreme thing. (Yes, just the same position as God). Devotion is okay, but don't ignore other things because of that. Why? God has given you life so that you can indulge in its devotion and praying to it all your life? No, that's not the reason why you were born. You were born to do great things. You're born to be a successful person. (I'm not joking)

God doesn't always need your prayers and devotion. It needs you to work hard for yourself and others. As I said, This emotion is supposed to have its limits too. Just like when you're upset for too long, you might fall into a very severe mental problem called depression or at least some frustration.

Happiness also has its limits. You can't keep a smiling face all the time. First of all, it's impossible. Second of all, Your cheek muscles will suffer. Third of all, You can't laugh at someone whose suffering or sad (obviously).

Some people abuse others and pray from outside. If they don't do this, they have something else in mind when doing it. Praying is like meditation. Please don't treat it like a joke. It's not necessary that you always have to ask for something when you're talking about it. Right? You can just talk about your normal life or thank god for everything you have right now (I bet that the list would be endless). You can even just keep your mind empty and meditate. I see many students when they are praying they smile at others and do some pretty stupid things. It's nice but yeah, It's not really cool.

Doing all these things I wrote above about abusing others and not paying attention when praying, all of this, clearly, means that you neither have faith in yourself nor in your life.

Now, I'll tell you something that happens with many people I meet. They say, "I have trust issues". Some might be faking it for the sake of being cool, but I think many people who said that were saying the truth.

Again, Trusting too much or distrusting too much will create problems. If you trust too much, You're likely to be scammed by people. If you're distrusting too much, you might miss out on some very good people out there. Who can help you in a crisis? Always try to have proper communication between the people around you. Whether it's classmates, neighbors, or anyone. Then, you can ask for something that you don't need urgently from everyone. Test, who actually helps you. In this way, you'll be able to analyze the people around you.

Trust everyone half-half. Also, keep testing their loyalty. But don't try to involve in someone's life too much. It not only kills your time but also will make you get frustrated thinking about his or her problems. Not to mention, Know how to throw someone out of your life. AKA, cut connection completely. This means not going to contact this person EVER again.

Having faith in God also doesn't mean it will help you top your exams. That's why I said, study. instead of praying all day. Work is the same as god. Devote yourself to work and you will see the outcome. Not immediately, but definitely.
