Chapter 5 - Private Talks

♤ A L E X A ♤

We went to the bar since I love drinking. Opening the door, I entered first. The walls are made of glass, so we can see the pool outside, the glass is tinted so we can't be seen. The bar has a vintage black and white theme. Everything is made out of wood, and I'm guessing that majority of the furniture are personalized gifts for Naomi.

"Are you going to drink?" Elijah asked. "Nope, that's why we are here," I answered sarcastically. He knows the answer, yet he still asks, idiot.

"It's only noon, and you haven't eaten lunch yet." He scolded me.

"So what? I'm used to drinking with an empty stomach." I answered, then took a case of san mig from the storage room. There are a lot of drinks here, almost every brand has a stock here. Opening a bottle and drank half of it straight, he did the same. "Can't she remember anything?" He asked, making me stop.

I went behind the counter and pushed a button that will make all the cameras turn off. "That's a taboo," I said sternly. This guy is seriously an idiot, is he stirring up trouble the second day of our meeting, after a long time?

"You already turned off the cameras so it's fine. So, she can't remember a single thing?" He asked once again, making me heave out a deep sigh and shifts my gaze outside. "Not even a thing. She doesn't recognize any of you," I answered, looking at the empty pool, surrounded by gray walls.

"But she is still in love with weapons," He said, then drank the remaining beer. "This is really hard for Ares," He added.

"We can't do anything. She isn't aware that she had amnesia because the only memories she lost were the ones that are connected to the incident, two years ago. She can remember us because we are her classmates. Everyone she met outside the school was long forgotten. It's also for the better that she doesn't remember a single thing about that incident," I explained, then drank the remaining beer on my bottle.

"How about Ares? How about us? Will she just forget us, just like that?" He asked, sadness evident in his tone. This decision of hiding the truth from Naomi is the best for her, and the worst for them... forgive me, but my friend is my priority.

"There is still a chance that she will remember you. But for now, just let her be happy. Even if her memories won't come back, I know that she will still accept you. She even let you in here," I said, finishing my second bottle. Half of me wants to protect her from those nightmares, but another half of me wants to help her fight them. The only thing that scares me is that she might keep it all to herself.

"That's the second one, enough already," he scolded me again. "Why though? Beer is like water, you know," I answered as I opened my third bottle. I drank and drank until I finished half of the tray. Elijah just sat there, and watch me hopelessly.

"Enough, we still have a ball to attend to," Elijah said, scolding me again. Tsk, what a killjoy." "You should sleep first. It's still early," he added.

"Why would I trust you?" He really knows how to piss me. The beer has no effect on me, but he is stopping me. And now he wants me to sleep, he is treating me like a child! "I might look like a playboy, but I'm loyal. Just go to sleep," he said, trying to convince me.

"Fine," I said, a bit mad, and lied down on the sofa. Looking up the wooden ceiling with rose carvings, memories of the past flashed in my mind. How I miss those times when we were still a part of one organization. Before I completely fell asleep, I felt that he sat on the sofa. He also used his jacket as a blanket for me. I can smell his scent, it was so manly yet calming.

"Have sweet dreams about me, only me. I'll protect you from any harm. If I ever harm you, then I will leave immediately if it means you'll be safe. I missed you, the only lady of my life," That's the last thing I heard before darkness completely taken me. You don't have to leave me like before...

The dance studio has a floor with wood design. It can easily fool others, because of how detailed it is. The walls are covered with mirrors, and the ceiling has a galaxy painting. The typical taste of Naomi.

I'm in the dance studio with Kyosuke. He is really handsome, and he has a voice like an angel! Not too high but not too low, his voice is just right. He has a pointed nose and his skin is a bit paler than mine. His eyes are really mesmerizing. Gentleman, good sense of humor-

"Something wrong?" He asked, making me stop. "You have been staring at me in a while now," He added, making me blush, and look at my feet.

"A-ah, i-it's nothing. Just thinking about something." I said, stuttering. Aish, why does he have to be so handsome?! "You like hip hop, right?" He asked, so I nodded as my answer.

"Wanna dance?" Eh? Does he still dance? "What will we dance?" I asked. "Let's dance to any song, any way you want to dance to it. Let's just dance and have fun until we drop."

And we started dancing. I missed this. Dancing to any song with him until we drop. I missed the old days...

"Nike?" He called, making me shift my gaze towards his direction. "Is there something wrong?"

"I should be the one asking you that. You suddenly stopped dancing. Are you sick? Or maybe, tired? Is something bothering you?" He asked, worry written all over his face. Don't make me fall, hayst.

"Just lost in some memories? You know, the old days..."

"Speaking of the old days...is it still him?" he asked, making me stop for the second time. Yes, I like someone else. Fell too hard, but no one caught me. Even though it hurts, there is always a reason for me to hold on.

"I see..." He understands me even if I don't utter a single word. "Don't let yourself fall any further. Don't...get hurt. There are people around you who's heart breaks every time you get hurt." After he said that, he walked out, leaving me dumbfounded.

He is messing with my mind. He is way too perfect to the point that it is hard to understand him. Out of all of my friends, he is the only unreadable. He seldom shows his true feelings. When he gets mad, you won't understand why. He is too complicated.

He is the perfect guy, but he is still a human. He has flaws. He is really bad at expressing his true feelings. Basically, unreadable.
