I lay in my bed, thinking of Xavier the whole night. He seemed a little off today compared to normal; what with his character being seemingly a bit out of place as he didn't smile that often and kept giving me weird glances whilst we were walking back to my chamber.
Not to mention... the words he said to me... "I was also grateful and happy... that the first person who found you and was called out by you... was me." A flashback of what he said echoed in my thoughts as my face flushed red thinking of his smile. Omgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!! What is thissss?!?! Doesn't it sound like he likes me? Nononono. I'm sure it's just him being happy I relied on him... seeing as he was saved by me last time... and that I'm the first person who didn't discriminate that he was from the beast folk clan.
I sighed to myself for thinking of whatever I was thinking before I sat up in bed and grabbed my diary that I hid in the same drawer of the dresser with the box. I stared at the box for a brief moment before sitting down at the vanity beside the dresser and drew out a pen, writing in the entry of the day below the other entries I kept following my transmigration here.
After filling in my adventure packed entry, I flipped through the diary to the last few pages which I scribbled my growing hazy memory of what was to come in the future events. No one can know of this entry, which was why I hid these few pages with magic. Lily's parents would be appalled and... I'd be going back to that same old lifestyle... all alone again...
I shook my head, ridding myself of the cloud of anxiety and read up on what was supposed to transpire. Delia was supposed to meet the prince the day she bumped into me dressed as a boy. It was super weird how she reacted when she found out I was a girl... Is it even possible? She can't have also transmigrated here as well... could she? Or was she just really shocked? That the person she was clinging onto whilst showing her charm was another girl?
As the thoughts made my head spin, I shut the diary and stuffed it deep inside the drawer as I took out the box and touched the pressed flower ring. Lily must have really treasured it. She kept it in such good condition and neatly tucked it away in the drawer... Eh? Or was it the opposite?
I doubted myself and shut the box as I tucked it neatly into its corner before closing the drawer and heading back to bed where my eyelids grew heavy the minute my head touched the pillow.

A silhouette appeared in front of Lily's bedroom window as she slept. It looked like that of a man who was about 6 foot in height. It could have also been the ray of moonlight which elongated and distorted the silhouette. Just as soon as it appeared, it vanished into thin air leaving nothing in its wake.
***
My eyes fluttered open as I stared groggily at the window where the silhouette was. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, cursing mentally that I got up so early and walked towards the window. I drew the curtains and headed out to my balcony where I was met with cool night air and a view of the garden of the Lacroix estate.
Cool wind ran its fingers between my hair as if gently caressing me as I stared at the full moon. What a view. I don't think I could have ever seen such a beautiful sight in my previous life.
As I was pondering, a movement caught my eyes as it moved swiftly towards me. I was about to scream when a hand was clamped around my mouth. Who in their right mind?! I'm gonna blow you to spa--...
"Xavier?! What the heck?!" I cried out flabbergasted and slightly relieved before actually slapping myself on the cheek after swatting Xavier's hand off my mouth. "Ah! Miss Lily! Why did you..." Xavier asked in a panic as I cut him off.
" Before that! What are you doing?! You... you're being more than insolent at this moment! I... I'm a girl! And! And!" I blurted out in a state of frenzy as my thoughts grew jumbled up and heartbeat skyrocketed from the experience.
"Miss Lily... Please forgive my insolence... it's just... I... couldn't sleep well tonight.... And... I'm sure you couldn't either. I was on a walk and then I saw you and... before I knew it I'm here. I didn't mean any harm... Just thought we could... hang out like before... before I became your knight. Just like that day we ran off from that man chasing us through the market." Xavier said as he slumped into a heap on the balcony's floor, staring at me with a conflicted face.
I sighed as I patted his head and leaned on the balcony looking at the moon. The moon! Maybe that's why Xavier has been acting so weirdly. He's a wolf from the beast folk clan after all. I'm sure it is affecting him! I smiled to myself from this revelation as my body relaxed from the thought and me and Xavier spent a long conversation beneath the moonlit night.
***
"Well, thank you for spending time with me today. I bid you a good night... Young miss Lily." Xavier bowed as I smiled and retreated to my chamber, yawning as I drew the curtains. I whispered a good night to him as Xavier's perky ears stood up and twitched at the sound making me smile as I climbed into bed, staring at his silhouette on the curtains before drifting off to sleep.
***
"To think she was awake... Could it be the effect of that visitor? Tsk. I can't believe they vanished that quickly." Xavier cursed beneath his breath as he balled his fist so tightly blood trickled down, dripping onto the balcony.
He stared at the full moon as he remembered the way Lily's features seemed ethereal in a sense in the gentle caress of the moonlight, the girl he swore his beast folk allegiance to... and the girl he couldn't stop thinking about. Everything about her seemed off, she seemed otherworldly in the sense that whatever she does isn't something most people would think to do.
Even that situation with that other girl... Delia... there was no need to put her life on the line for such a low life... But... Thinking back on it... She did the same for me... Who am I to say such a thing. It must be the moon making me grow crazy. Xavier thought as he full well knew his excuse was gibberish as the normal full moon never affected the wolves of the beast folk clan.
Xavier ruffled his hand through his hair as he stared at his bleeding hands, thinking of how he was not strong enough to protect Lily. He gritted his teeth and shook his head before transforming into a wolf with a coat shimmering a bright red under the moonlight.
Xavier leapt off the balcony and ran through the estate, feeling the cold night air pelt his face and coat as he howled distressingly at the moon. I'll protect her this time! I swear!
