Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven: To The Town!

As I got out of bed, I walked towards my dresser; opening it as I searched it's content. Out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed a box wrapped neatly and tucked in the corner.

I pulled it out and opened it, revealing a bookmark with a pressed flower ring on top of a violet coloured handkerchief. Then... it wasn't a dream... but a memory? Oh... What's this? I thought before being interrupted by my maids' greetings.

"Good morning, Young Miss. Please permit us to get you ready for breakfast." some maids said as they bowed in an orderly manner. Ah... This still takes some getting used to. "G-good morning..." I replied, smiling sweetly as I searched the faces of the maids.

The maids were startled with my attitude, confirming my suspicions. They must have been mistreated by me in the past, haven't they... Well... redemption for this character shouldn't be too hard since she is still young. I can still turn this around.

"Good morning, Young Miss. Breakfast is ready to be served. Let me help you get ready." a familiar voice said as I turned to see my nanny walk towards me. "O-oh. Thank you." I said in reply as I reached out towards her outstretched hand.

After breakfast, I sat in my room staring at the open box. I picked up and opened the handkerchief, staring at the bloodstain that couldn't be washed off. I guess this was why Lily never returned the handkerchief... or perhaps it was a memento of their meeting?

I ignored the thought and folded back the handkerchief, placing it neatly back into the bottom of the box. I then brushed my fingers upon the bookmark, smiling to myself as I placed it on top of the handkerchief.

My eyes then lingered on the last item. A button... I wonder which prince it belongs to. I'm certain it belonged to the boy in the dream. From his mannerisms it seemed to point 100% to the second prince as he was playful as ever. However, that serious expression and the way he held himself seemed to indicate that it was the first prince. Ahhh! How confusing.

Ignoring those facts, I shut the box and stuffed it back into my dresser. Shutting it forcefully as I turned around with a mischievous grin on my face.

The servants in this mansion still does not fully trust me due to my tantrums and how I used to treat them. That's why, I'm going to make them trust me! By going to town to buy treats!

In all honesty, I was just curious about the town. The treats were just second thoughts. I mean, the way to ones heart is through their stomach, isn't it?

The only problem was how to get out. I can't exactly walk out the front door. Plus, the guards aren't exactly happy with me at the moment due to the prank the lady(me) played on them before I transmigrated here. As I pondered my moves, I stared at the window before grinning.

I reached the town and felt the lively atmosphere as I took in the new surroundings. It felt more like a market but that was one of the good points of the town. The only problem was... an unexpected guest tagging along.

"Sister~ There are so many pweople!" Cain exclaimed as he tugged my hand. "Yes, there sure are. Also... call me brother while we're out here, okay?" I replied with a smile as I patted his head.

A truly unprecedented accident. Getting caught whilst sneaking out of the house; especially by Cain. He kept bugging me till I agreed to bring him along.

"Let's go." I said smiling as I gently tugged his hand, leading him towards a fruit stall. "Bwother, can I have that?" Cain asked excitedly as he tugged my hand, jumping gleefully as he pointed at an apple.

"Of course. Of course. One apple please." I said as I paid the vendor. Cain smiled sweetly as he accepted the fruit, tugging my hand once more to gain my attention. "Bwother. For you." he said grinning.

My heart squeezed and I bent down to hug him, squeezing him tightly as I patted his head. How adorable!!! If I had had a little brother in my past life, I'm sure he'd have acted similarly.

"Oh my. What a cute pair of siblings. Here, take another, it's on me." the vendor said smiling as she handed me another apple. "Oh my. Are you sure? Thank you so much." I replied as the vendor nodded with a smile.

As we strolled by the various vendors and traders set up, a loud voice yelled out making Cain jump in a startle. He then grew teary and began crying, causing me to panic as I tried to calm him.

"STOP THAT BOY! DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY!!!" a voice yelled, getting louder as I turned towards the direction of the voice. A boy with brown chestnut hair and hazelnut eyes ran straight towards us.

"Eh, wait. Stop!" I yelled, as I immediately shielded Cain from the boy, in case he fell on top of him. The boy did stumble on me and fell face flat on the ground after tumbling over me.

"Owww~" the boy groaned as he glanced back at the man running after him. "Tsk. Hey, quick, come this way!" the boy exclaimed as he grabbed onto my wrist, pulling me to run after him.

As I was still holding onto Cain, I tripped and pulled the boy back down onto the ground. He clicked his tongue again and carried Cain on his back as he shoved a few loaves of bread in my arms, running off with Cain. "Ah! Hey! Give me back my brother!" I yelled as I chased after him.

Once we were in the clear, I shoved the bread back into his arms as I carried Cain, pulling him off the strange boy's back. "Who are you? You could have run away by yourself. Why'd you involve us?" I asked menacingly as I held firmly onto my brother.

"Eh, no reason really. But... Wasn't it thrilling?" the boy replied, laughing gleefully as he tore a piece off from one of the loaves of bread. "I'm Xavier. Xavier Rich. Haha. I know. Hilarious how I'm dirt poor with a last name of Rich." the boy laughed as he offered us some of his bread in which I rejected.
