Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Oliver was startled when he saw Leon, but then he smiled at him as if nothing had happened and continued his phone conversation. It seemed as if he was not surprised or afraid of Leon's presence.

Leon felt displeased. How could this person remain so calm when he saw him? He even smiled and nodded at him, as if they were meeting with a client. Leon felt it was unfair and forced himself to calm down, pretending not to notice this person who was smiling awkwardly beside Alex.

James Hill was unhappy that Oliver had left the table for so long. He gave him a sharp, displeased look, but Oliver ignored it and politely listened to everyone's conversation, occasionally inserting a few appropriate remarks.

Leon's gaze unconsciously drifted towards Oliver. Seeing him happily chatting and laughing, Leon felt uncomfortable and thought to himself that he still found him just as detestable as before - hypocritical in his appearance and demeanor.

Sensing Leon's gaze, Oliver turned his head slightly and gave him a harmless smile.

Leon felt caught in the act and instead of avoiding it, he stared straight at Oliver, gritting his teeth and mouthing the words: "Don't mess with me."

Oliver smiled and winked at him, then turned to Alex and said, "Alex, I heard that Leon just returned from Austria. Do you have any plans for what to do next?"

Alex was pleased that Oliver took the initiative to ask about Leon. In his eyes, Oliver was knowledgeable and had a good understanding of human relations. He had excelled in both academia and business, which was rare. He thought about having Leon learn something from him to improve himself, so he wouldn't be a burden at home every day. Alex glanced at Leon and said unhappily, "This brat went to a second-rate school to study Greek for no reason. Where would that ever be useful? I can't even find him a job." Then he smiled at Oliver and said, "If I remember correctly, Oliver also studied in Austria, right? You should have some common topics to talk about. If you have time, you can spend some time with Leon and help your uncle out."

"A second-rate school... Greek?" Oliver was taken aback. "Alex, are you sure?" He asked Alex but his eyes were on Leon.

"You can't possibly remember wrong. It is the S College just across from A University," Alex smiled. Seeing Oliver's confusion, he thought he looked down on Leon and added, "Although the ranking of this school is lower, the major is still good."

"Indeed, S College has a strong academic atmosphere. Many top university professors have graduated from S College," Oliver suppressed his doubts and smiled in agreement, his gaze shifting to Leon. He continued, "It's quite a coincidence that I'm at A University too. It seems that Leon and I have some fate. Right, Leon?"

Leon felt his scalp go numb and he nearly broke the chopsticks in his hand.

Why was this big bad wolf pretending to be an innocent little rabbit?

"Hehe, what a coincidence," Leon forced a smile and said. He thought, indeed there was some fate, an unpleasant fate that couldn't be broken.

"Oh, why don't you add your brother on WhatApp? You can ask him for help if you need anything in the future," Alex patted Leon with a kind expression on his face.

Leon felt like the father-son relationship was about to be torn apart by this sentence. He wanted to resist, but then he saw his dad take out his phone and skillfully open the mobile banking app. Leon's breath caught in his throat. Was this a threat? A blatant threat? Could he surrender to just this amount of money? Impossible. He lowered his head, took a deep breath, and put on a smile, his voice becoming sweet and sticky, "Brother, let's add each other on WeChat~"

How could he not surrender? Just kidding, as a second-generation rich kid, he had to have some professional ethics, right? Being afraid of not having money was the first professional rule, right?

Seeing his quick change of attitude, Oliver couldn't help but suppress a smile. He reached out his phone and commanded, "Scan me."

Leon's outstretched hand froze instantly.

Oliver calmly watched him, jokingly thinking that a whole year had been wasted on him? Besides, how could this small-minded person fool anyone?

Leon felt a sense of frustration. If looks could kill, Oliver would have been shattered into pieces by now. But Oliver remained unfazed, leaving his phone there, waiting for Leon to scan it.

With a gesture of grand self-sacrifice, Leon scanned the QR code and sent a friend request.

Oliver quickly accepted it and looked at the familiar profile picture with a hint of tenderness in his eyes. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Leon, saying, "Don't accidentally delete it again, alright?"

Leon gritted his teeth and said, "Whoever deletes it will be a dog."
