Located on a hilltop, the Davidson House covered 15 acres of land, with swimming pools and gardens and over 20 servants and housemaids. It usually seemed cold and quiet as the owners were rarely home. However, since Spencer's mother came back, with her group of servants, it had added some liveliness to the place, as well as Anna and her private maids.
As usual, Anna sat with Spencer's mother by the fire after dinner, but she seemed somehow absent-minded tonight. Even Spencer's mother noticed the difference. She asked worriedly, "Anna, are you alright? Shall I call the doctor?"
Her son was away most of the time and rarely had time for her. Fortunately, she had Anna to accompany her.
Anna forced a smile and said, "No. It's ok. I'm fine. I missed Spencer too much and couldn't sleep last night, so I'm a bit tired." I wonder how it went. I hope they sorted it nicely. Spencer shouldn't know. I hope.
