Bella's eyes rounded in surprise when Zach turned to the left, and a door suddenly opened ahead of them. She whistled slowly and whipped her head around so she could take a look at the different models of cars that were parked in the garage.
"You should close your mouth. You're drooling," Zach teased her with a grin as he parked the car and got out.
Bella snapped her mouth shut and hurriedly got out of the car, "Don't tell me he owns all of these cars," She couldn't hide the envy in her voice as she asked, pointing at the cars and counting them.
"Every single one of them is his. The man sure knows his cars," Zach said with a grin as he pulled her luggage box out of the car.
"And I sure do love his cars. I hope I get to take a ride in them all," Bella said dreamily.
Zach chuckled at that as he led her out of the garage, "You wish!"
Bella was awed once more as she looked around the very quiet environment. "You mean, one man lives here?"
"I take it you had never read of Dan Williams nor his famous glass mansion before you applied for the job?" Zach asked, studying Bella in amusement.
"I've actually never heard of him until I was told about the job last night," Bella whispered into his ears confidentially.
Zach looked at her incredulously, "What do you mean you've never heard of him? You don't watch movies or listen to music?"
Bella shrugged, "Not just my thing."
"So I take it you also did not know the music you referred to as 'corny' earlier was one of his songs?" He chuckled when her eyes bulged out in surprise.
"I thought as much. You really should read about him and find out as much as you can. It's always good you know the important details about your employer, so you don't flop," Zach said, ruffling her hair like a brother would before walking ahead.
Bella tried not to scowl as she rearranged her hair before running to catch up with him, "He must have many household staff, right?" Bella asked again.
"No, he doesn't. He actually doesn't like seeing people all over his space."
"What? You mean he lives in this mansion all by himself?" Bella shrieked in horror as she thought of the implications of that.
Zach flashed her a grin, "Well, now it's going to be the both of you, I suppose."
"Just the both of us? He must love cooking, cleaning and doing laundry, right? Those are not a part of my job description," Bella told him with a frown.
"You don't have to worry about any of that. Selected cleaners do come in twice a week, but only when he isn't around," Zach informed her.
"But isn't this house too big for just two of us?" Bella turned to ask Zach, who was now standing beside her, with a smile on his face as he remembered the first time he, too, had been to the mansion.
"Not for a celebrity of Dan's calibre. The rooms consist of his private gym, music studio, helipad, library and even a movie theatre. We should go in now. I'm sure he has been awaiting your arrival," Zach said, wondering why he was suddenly being so talkative with Bella, and just a while ago, he had been seething with anger.
"So why don't you live here with him? I'm sure this house has more than enough bedrooms to house more than a hundred persons," Bella said as she hurried to keep up with his pace again.
"I don't know the exact number of bedrooms here or anything, but you can tell me when you find out. Also, I don't live here because I don't need to. He loves driving himself around most of the time and doesn't really have much need for me except on a few occasions," Zach said with a shrug as he placed his palm on the identification sensor by the door.
The door automatically opened, and Bella turned to look at Zach in surprise, "Don't worry, you'll get used to it," Zach assured her with a smile as they stepped inside the house.
'This was going to be her new home? She was actually going to be living in such an outlandishly luxurious home?' Bella asked herself and pinched her arm to be sure she wasn't dreaming.
Little wonder Joan, who was from a pretty wealthy home, had been so excited at the prospect of her moving in with Dan Williams.
"Why did you arrive so late?" Dan's voice floated down to them through a speaker, making her look around in confusion. What was going on?
"He is watching you. You should give him a response," Zach suggested under his breath.
"Uhm... I had to take care of family business," Bella answered reluctantly.
"Turner, you can leave for the day. Thanks for bringing him over," Dan said before turning off his mic and standing up from the seat in front of the monitors in his control room.
He had been observing them from the moment the gate opened until the moment they entered the house. And though he hadn't heard what they had talked about, he could tell his new personal assistant was very fascinated by everything he saw.
"Thanks for today. I hope to see you around," Bella said with a smile when Zach simply patted her back and turned to leave.
"Try not to get into trouble... You seem the type," Zach said without turning to look at her. Bella turned to watch him leave and suddenly felt like a lonely child on her first day at school.
"Come with me," Dan said in an impatient tone, startling her as she quickly turned around to look at him. She hadn't heard his footsteps.
He paused when he noticed her luggage box, "Open it!" He ordered, pointing to it.
"Huh?" Bella's eyes widened in surprise, and she gulped nervously. Not only did she have her lingerie in there, but she also had her tampons and sanitary pad. How was she going to let him see that? She didn't plan on facing such embarrassment just on her first day at work, especially not from him.
