Dan picked up his phone and walked out of the study when he started feeling very overwhelmed by his thoughts. He wondered what Bella was up to since he knew she possibly wouldn't be able to go to bed when Ben was in danger.
Although it was past 2 AM, but Dan didn't mind as he walked out of the house and headed for the garden. He needed to dip himself in water and clear his head. He glanced at his phone when it vibrated and felt relieved when he saw it was a text message from Bella, "Don't want to disturb your sleep. Call me if you're awake."
He dialed her number immediately and walked over to the bar by the poolside, where they had both been seated earlier.
"You are still awake?" Bella asked the moment she received his call. She was in the bathroom making the call since she didn't want to disturb Joan's sleep.
"Yeah. Why weren't you taking my calls earlier, and why did you leave the ring?" Dan asked, making his displeasure very obvious.
