Joan hurriedly stood up from the dining where she was having breakfast with her parents, and hugged Bella the moment she stepped into the house.
"I'm very sorry, Bell," She pleaded, making her parents, who were still having their breakfast, turn to look at the both of them with interest. Joan's father had a look of disapproval on his face when he observed that Bella was dressed in a male outfit as usual.
The first time Joan had introduced Bella to the family when they were younger, he had been worried that Bella was a lesbian and was interested in Joan sexually, and later when he saw that it was a harmless friendship, he had become worried that she was going to influence Joan with her dressing style, but over the years Joan had remained girlie. Now he just didn't like that Bella dressed that way, but he had no problem with her or with her friendship with Joan, especially now that Joan was working with him.
