Dan could only hope that by the time he returned to his van, she would have found a way to return to wherever she had appeared from.
He didn't like having other people in his personal space, apart from his parents and his best friend, Richie. Even the ladies he often passed his time with when he was bored knew better than to hang around longer than was necessary.
"Where are we going to?" Bella asked, making him turn around suddenly to look at her. Why hadn't he heard her following him?
"Why are you following me? See, I get what you young ladies do these days. You see a male celebrity, you chase after him and throw yourself at..."
"I beg your pardon?" Bella interrupted him as her blood began to boil.
"You throw yourselves at him and then get him to sleep with you so you can blackmail him later or lay false accusations on him. I'm not falling for that crap, so don't waste your time," Dan concluded before opening the bottle of whiskey and gulping from it directly.
"Do you have a mental problem of some sort?" Bella asked incredulously. Why did he keep claiming to be a celebrity when she was very certain someone with his type of manner couldn't possibly do anything to attract fans?
"And just so you know, you're not my type. I don't do girls with A cup..." He allowed his words to trail off as he pointed at her chest.
"What?!" Bella exclaimed angrily and kicked his leg in anger, making him yelp in pain.
"What da actual fuck??!" He yelled angrily as pain shot through his leg, and he bent down to massage the spot where she had kicked him.
"You're lucky I'm in a good mood, else I would have beat you up so badly and dumped your body in a dumpster where a trash like you belong," Bella said, baring her teeth at him angrily.
Maybe this one wasn't a fan. She spoke and acted like someone with a mental disorder. Dan decided. He felt sorry for himself that of all the troubles he had to deal with in his life, he had ended up in a lonely road with a crazy person.
Bella took a deep breath and mentally counted from one to ten as she tried to calm herself. She knew she was in her current predicament and was stuck here with this crazy stranger because of her foul temper. Maybe if she could reason with him, they could both figure out a way to get out of there. There was no need to get angry at him when she was the cause of her predicament.
"Look, I don't mean you any harm. I don't understand the nonsense you're talking about fans or celebrities, but I'm not anyone's fan but myself. Maybe we can set our differences aside and try to figure out a way to get out of here," Bella suggested.
"I told you there is no WE! Get lost!" Dan muttered and returned to the Van.
"Okay. Fine. I get it. I also do not want to spend the night in this place with you. So if you don't want me here, you should be kind enough to lend me at least your phone to make a quick call. Hopefully, my best friend will send her car over for me," Bella pleaded. She desperately needed to find a way to get home or at least give Joan a call.
"You want me to give you my phone, so you can take my number and stalk me? No way, sweety! You got the wrong star," Dan told her as he got inside the van and locked the door so she couldn't get inside.
"What are you doing?" Bella asked angrily when she tried to open the door and realized it was locked. She banged on the door noisily to get his attention.
Dan said nothing and simply put on his headset and started playing the different songs on his phone as he tried to distract himself from the presence of the girl who was hitting the car angrily.
He had planned on leaving her out there until she learned her manners and apologized for her rude behavior, but he had slept off, unfortunately.
He woke up in the middle of the night to see her leaning against the car as she slept.
How could she sleep while standing? He wondered as he stood there watching her. He noticed goosebumps on her skin, and her body was very cold.
He felt the wave of regret and sadness wash over him again before lifting her in his arms and carrying her inside the van.
He was surprised to see that she didn't flinch nor wake up when he carried her. She slept as carelessly as she talked and behaved. Dan thought with a shake of his head.
