As Bella watched them, it suddenly occurred to her that in both lifetimes, she had pretended to be a man, even though it was for different reasons. She wished she could speak to Becca and ask her so many questions. There were a lot of things she wanted to know, but unfortunately, she couldn't communicate with anyone.
Ian rubbed his face with both hands. Everyone knew he always preferred being alone. He really didn't like the idea of having anyone in his personal space. But for his mother's sake, he was going to have to bend his rules a tiny bit, "You'll sleep here."
The whole idea of sharing a room with him was bad enough, but a bed? No way! "But I can't share this bed with you. I prefer sleeping alone," Becca pointed out uncomfortably.
"I'm glad we share the same opinion since I had no intention of sharing my bed with you," Ian assured her.
