"So, how much money did he leave you?" Bella asked out of the blue since she wanted to change the subject. She had been curious as to what the old man who died must have left Dan.
"How much money did who leave me?" Dan asked in confusion.
"The old man who the doctor said left you something," Bella reminded him.
Dan chuckled, "Oh! Mr. Will? Of all things, why would you think he left me money?" Dan asked in amusement.
"What else could he possibly have left you? His property or maybe his company?" Bella guessed, allowing her curiosity to get the best of her.
Dan spared her a glance and noticed that she seemed more relaxed with him now than she had been when they left Joan's house earlier. There was no need to put her off when he could easily answer her question, "Well, since you are so curious, I will show you," Dan said as he dipped one hand inside his pocket and took out the ring pouch.
