Noah
I wake up in a jolt. What...
Taking a look around my surroundings, I feel dizzy. So dizzy, that I fall back on to the bed, finding it hard to get back up. My head is spinning like crazy, it makes me... tired. I should sleep.
Richelle
Finally. After what feels like years, which was only an hour and a half, we're finally here. The place that I ran away from. The place I could've been killed. The place where my boyfriend is probably dying of despair.
"Okay, what's the plan?" Riley asks.
"We could go in and save Noah." Amanda says. I roll my eyes at her suggestion. Idiot.
"No way! She has a huge buff dude in there and probably a lot more!" Ozzy says.
"Well, what can we do?"
"I found this while we were there," I say showing them the blueprint of the building. "I took it while we were leaving."
"Good eye Rich," Ozzy praises. I softly smile at him, before turning back to the group. Right now I don't have time to care about what they think of me. My main priority is getting my boyfriend back.
"So this is where we are now, right here at the bottom entrance at the back. Where we were was right here under the floor we'll be on if we go in now, but the real thing we need to know is how to stay going without getting caught." I explain.
"Does anyone know how not to get caught by a lot of huge men?" Ozzy asks. Everyone awkwardly stares at each other.
"I do. I used to do it with my dad a lot." I say.
"Well how do we do that?" Piper asks.
"I brought a lot of things my older brother built. Like tiny cameras, tiny microphones, and other things like that." Cassie says.
"Cassie, you're a genius!" I praise.
"Wow, thanks."
"We could use the tiny cameras to see where everything is. Like put one in every room." I say. There's a possibility we could actually do this.
"If there are lasers, I brought a compact mirror, does that help?" Amy asks. All of a sudden people are talking to me.
"Yes and no. Yes if it's a laser of visible light; it'll reflect the laser all around and so you can see the light. If it's an IR laser, though, it's invisible to the human eye regardless. It could be pointed right in your eyeball and you'd be blind to it. So, we could set off alarms with the lasers we can't see. Even if you put the makeup in the air it won't show up."
"The laser hits the particles in the air. You're actually seeing the laser on dust basically. Try it with a laser pointer" LaTroy says.
"Yes, but lasers are crap for security. It's much more cost effective to use a couple motion detectors and be done with it. Lasers are finicky and hard to maintain. Way too many points of failure. You would never see setups in real life like the movies depict." I tell them.
"So, what if there's a motion detector?"
"There is a motion detector." I sigh.
"Well, what are we going to do?" Michelle asks.
"Most motion detectors, even newer ones, use infrared to detect significant changes in the surrounding room's temperature. Normally, walking around in a room would set off these sensors, but using something as simple as a piece of Styrofoam to shield your body can trick them."
"So does anyone have Styrofoam or a substitute?"
"I have huge pla lined paper bags." Riley says.
"I don't know why, or how you have those, but it'll work. How many do you have?"
"Eleven."
"So, that means three people have to stay on look out."
"I volunteer to stay!" John says.
"You're not staying John. If I'm dying, you're dying with me." Michelle says. Well...
"I think, Cassie, Amy, and Ozzy should stay." I suggest.
"No way am I staying." Ozzy protests.
"Ozzy, it's better if I go by myself anyway! This is my mess!"
"No it's not! Noah is everyone's teammate. Sure he's your boyfriend, but I deserve to go, knowing that I helped you get him back. I'm your best friend."
I gulp, knowing he's too damn stubborn anyway, "Fine."
"I think Riley should stay." James says.
"James-"
"I don't care Riley, I'm going to make sure you stay safe if it's the last thing I do. I love you, you know that. So, you're staying. And that's end of discussion. We have a psychopath on our hands and I don't want you to get hurt."
{A/N: I had to add a little Jiley moment, this book wouldn't be complete without one!}
We all get out of the van and put on the bags. "I love you too!" Riley calls out, when we start walking.
Piper, James, LaTroy, Sloane, Amanda, Alfie, myself, Ozzy, John, Henry, and Skylar. All together on a mission. To save Noah Erlick. Okay, we can do this.
Ozzy clutches onto my hand squeezing it to assure me we'll be okay, and I think he did it for himself too.
****
So far we've been okay. No one in sight. We've put a few cameras up too.
Abi
Oh, they are so pathetic. Did they really think I didn't plan for this. "They are so idiotic for coming back here." I say.
"Darn right Abi. And great job. We'll finally be taking down The Next Step, and Elite will take over."
I smile at Lucien. This is going to be so fun. I smirk, knowing the control I have over them. This is way too easy. Noah's in my grasp and not able to go anywhere now, after what I've done to him. Elite will win Regionals, Nationals, and Internationals. I'll be a star. I'll get what I deserve. Everything is going according to plan.
