Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 Don’t Forget Where You Belong

"Sorry mates, Victoria took forever." Niall said, exaggerating.

I finally caught up to him, out of breath and said:

"Niall we both know you were the one taking forever." I said, as I was fixing my hair.

Everyone looked sharp. I was impressed that Niall and Louis weren't fighting like kids.

"That dress looks great on you." My dad said, impressed.

My dad pulled me into a hug, and whispered in my ear:

"No drinking, or anything like that. Call me when you get there, and when you leave. Don't hesitate to call if anything happens. Don't fool around with boys. And behave."

"Yea I know dad, I've only heard that lecture about 47 times."

"You look wonderful in that dress. Did you buy that earlier when you went exploring with Niall?" Harry asked.

"Yea, it's a long story."

"She was mad because I spent 400 dollars on the dress."

"That's still a lot of money! And for a dress you wouldn't even wear-"

"Victoria. It's a gift, accept it. You look amazing." Louis said.

"Thanks Louis. You're looking sharp as hell."

"He's wearing my suit. The other had some stain or something." Liam added.

"I'm not surprised."

"It was that pasta we ordered earlier. I was eating some and it, sorta slipped."

"Sureee."

"Is everyone ready? The Addison Lee is waiting outside." Andrew said.

(The Addison Lee is a taxi for those who didn't know)

Paul didn't like the idea of us partying the night before performing, so we weren't gonna stay long anyways.

Everyone squished together inside the car. The car ride felt like it took forever, only because I was squished beside Harry and Liam.

We finally got to the party, and some serious security guards were guarding the door.

Everyone got out of the car, and we walked over to the entrance.

"Who's she?" One of the guards asked.

"Her name is Victoria. She's very important, and she's with us." Harry said to the guard.

They let us in, and we walked into the building. I looked around with amazement. There was a high class bar, a huge dance floor, and a DJ booth. Some tables were scattered around the room. I recognized some people, but not most.

I quickly texted my dad, letting him know we'd arrived.

Louis came back with a fucking tray that had 5 drinks. I was laughing as he handed out whatever he ordered to the boys. I was so fascinated by the place, I didn't even know Louis left to grab drinks.

Once it came to my turn, Louis gave me a shot which was clear.

"Louis, my dad said I couldn't drink. And this is vodka!" I said to Louis, quite irritated.

"Relax Vic!" He said.

Louis came closer to me, and whispered:

"First of all, your dads not here, and secondly, it's water. Just pretend it's vodka, please. Some serious actors, and celebrities don't need to see us treating you like a kid."

I was so confused, but I took the shot anyway. Louis took the tray back, while the boys all had their own drinks.

I followed Harry most of the time, only because it was so awkward being there. Some people knew me as "The girl from the livestream" or "The girl from the interview".

I knew I couldn't be Harry's "puppy dog" for much longer. He still wanted to send me that location, and see if I'd show. If I didn't, the date wouldn't happen.

Until then, I told Niall I'd have to eventually follow him, when Harry was busy, or whatever.

Harry and I were sitting at one of the tables, talking.

"I'll be right back. I need to wee, do you need anything?" Harry asked, getting up from his chair.

"I'm good, thanks." I replied, smiling at him.

I decided to scroll through my Twitter while I waited for Harry. I dug around in my purse, and pulled out my phone.

Just as I was unlocking my phone, I saw someone walking my way. I didn't recognize him, which was probably rude considering the fact that this is a VIP bar.

He looked about 50 years old. He was very tall, and he was dressed in a gray suit, with a black tie.

"Hello there." The man said.

I looked up and smiled.

"Hi." I replied.

"Mind if I sit?" He asked, pointing to the chair.

"I was actually waiting-" I trailed off, as he sat down anyways.

"So what's a pretty lady like you doing here? This is a VIP party, I almost didn't recognize you." He said, chuckling.

"I'm touring with One Direction, I was just waiting for Harry to come back." I said pointing to the bathroom.

Niall glanced at me from across the dance floor, and must've known something was up. I swear his "Spider-Man senses" kicked in or something.

I pulled out my phone, and messaged Niall from the corner of my eye.

To Irish Bestfriend🇮🇪

Don't know him, Harry went to the bathroom, I think he's flirting with me, save me.

I kept talking with this old guy, stalling while Niall was sneaking up behind him.

Once Niall finally got close enough, he made sure that I was safe, and he wasn't drunk or anything.

I saw Harry come out of the bathroom, and made his way over to where I was. Niall saw him coming, and told him what was up.

"Why don't I buy you a drink, you don't look like you're having fun." The guy said.

"I'm good." I said, smiling.

He got up from his chair, and sat in the one next to me. I felt extremely uncomfortable, as I saw his hand moving towards me.

My heart was racing as he put his hand on my thigh.

"Uh, I really think you should leave." I said, removing his hand.

"I really think you should relax." He whispered.

"Get away from me!" I said, signalling Niall.

He put his hand back on my thigh, and began to slowly caress my face with his other hand.

"I think you should leave mate." Harry said firmly.

I saw Niall on his phone, texting someone. I prayed it was Louis and Liam.

"Get out of here kid, you don't know what you're talking about." He said, with his hand still on my thigh.

Suddenly, I saw Louis running towards us, and Liam chasing after him.

"Get your bloody hands off of her!" Louis shouted.

"Yea? Or what?" The man said, standing up.

While they were arguing, Niall reached out his hand towards me, and I held on.

He led me towards the back, rushing me away from the fight. I looked back and saw them getting really close.

Suddenly, Louis got knocked to the ground, and I panicked. I tried to rush over there, but Niall gripped me tighter, and pulled me away. He was keeping me safe, while Louis was beating the crap out of the guy.

"It's self defense Victoria. The boys have him cornered, he doesn't stand a chonce." Niall said, trying to cheer me up.

As Niall was still struggling to get me away from the situation, I took one last look at the boys. Louis' face was covered in blood, and the guy was on the ground, getting beaten up by the boys.

I started crying, and I could only resist Nialls grip.

"No! I need to see if they're okay!" I shouted at Niall, with tears falling from my eyes faster than ever.

Everything was happening so fast, and I couldn't control anything. Not even my emotions. I wasn't sure what to feel, even after seeing Louis covered in blood. Maybe if I blinked long enough, it would all be a dream.

Everyone in the bar was staring at the chaos. No one even noticed me resisting Nialls grip.

Within seconds, security guards were surrounding them, pulling Louis off of the guy. Liam's face was red, and so was Harry's. I figured the guy must've hit them a few times, while on the ground.

I was falling apart, and I just accepted the fact that Niall was rushing me out of there, keeping me safe.

He led me towards the back, and through an exit door, which led to some steps outside.

"He'll be okay, Victoria. Whatever happens won't be terrible. That old guy took the first hit and everyone saw it. It was self defense." Niall said.

I was out of breath from uncontrollable sobbing, but I managed to take a deep breath so I could speak without crying.

"Beating him till he's on the ground, covered in blood is a little much. I'm more worried for Louis. His face was covered in blood, and at one point, he was laying on the ground. I thought the old guy knocked him out cold. And how the fuck will management react? How are they going to cover up Louis' face for the tour?" And-"

"You're worrying too much Victoria. Quit being paranoid. I know that man didn't have good intentions, but he got what he deserved and we all stuck up for you. Stop worrying about what will happen next, and start worrying about this "secret location" with Harry." Niall said, nudging me with his elbow.

I smiled and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

Niall gasped.

"You forgot didn't you?" Niall said, as his jaw dropped.

"No, I just don't know how Harry's gonna get out of that party, without being stopped by security." I said, staring at my reflection from a puddle right in front of me.

"You think security would get in the way of Harry Styles?" Niall asked.

"What do you mean? Just because he's a part of one of the world's most famous boy bands, doesn't mean he gets to avoid security guards, and cops."

Niall hesitated before words could even come out of his mouth.

"Are you okay?" He asked, while staring at my puffy face.

"I don't even know what I'm feeling right now. I don't know if I feel bad for resisting you dragging me out of there, or if I feel mad at Louis for nearly killing that guy, or maybe if I feel like it's all my fault. Y'know, maybe if I didn't even bother coming tonight, none of this wouldn't have happened. It feels like I have this lump in my throat, and it hurts to even think about anything. It feels like I'm drowning and there's rocks tied to my feet."

Niall listened intently, as I just poured my entire heart out.

I took a deep breath, right when I was finished speaking. Niall got up from the steps, and reached out his hand. I just stared at him.

"C'mon grab my hand." He chuckled.

I reached out and grabbed his hand, and he pulled me up. He pulled me into a warm hug, and whispered:

"It'll be okay."

I felt like crying again right after he said that. He'd just spent 5 minutes trying to make me see the boys point of view, and another 5 minutes listening to me rant.

"Thanks Niall." I replied.

*Ding*

I pulled away from Nialls hug, and grabbed my purse, which was sitting by my shoe. I dug around for my phone, and read who the message was from.

"You should probably call your dad, after you meet up with Harry." Niall said, looking around.

From Hazza Styles

1036 McKinley Avenue ❤️

I smiled as I looked up from my phone.

"Did Harry send you the address?" Niall asked with excitement.

Niall stared at me, as if he were a 6 year old kid whose father had just come home with a puppy.

"1036 McKinley Avenue." I replied.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure that's near the hotel actually. I saw a street sign on the way over here." Niall said, pulling out his phone from his pocket.

"Isn't your phone dead?" I asked, chuckling.

"It's a VIP bar, Victoria. Of course they had chargers there." Niall replied, as he unlocked his phone.

"It's a torn down bar. It burned down a few months ago. Probably abandoned." Niall added, putting his phone back in his pocket.

"Text Liam and Louis, that you and Harry took me out to clear my head. We can call a cab, and you can wait in it, while I quickly run in." I suggested.

"I don't think they'll let me stay in the cab. It's a Sunday night, and there's probably a lot of party's going down or something." Niall said.

"I'll pay them extra." I said, dialling a phone number.

"What's the address for this place?" I quickly asked Niall.

"5146 Wullinbar Avenue." Niall replied.

"Hi, can I please get an Uber for 5146 Wullinbar Avenue? Thank you!" I lowered my phone, and hung up.

"Now we just have to wait for a "jeep grand cherokee summit" in an ivory color. The driver's name is Wren" I said.

"Why didn't you just call an Addison Lee? Uber drivers always have to have a conversation throughout the ride." Niall complained.

I gave him a smug look, and snuck out front to wait for the Uber. Niall was right behind me, and we sat on a bench to wait.

It didn't take long for the car to arrive. I walked over to the car, and the driver rolled down the window, right as they saw me.

"Hi, are you Wren?" I asked.

"Yup." Wren replied, as he unlocked the car doors.

Niall and I hopped in, and got situated.

I wasn't used to the fact how people drove on the left side of the road. Back in Canada, everyone drove on the right side. And in London, their steering wheels are on the opposite side, of where they would normally be.

"1036 McKinley Avenue." I added, while putting my seatbelt on.

Wren put on some music, and drove off.
