As soon as Maya entered the office, she could see people looking at her in a weird way. At first she thought that it was because of today's emergency meeting. But there was something very different in the eyes of the onlookers, even their behaviour towards her was different. If it was any normal day, people would at least great her, but today they were looking at her as if she had committed some sin.
On her way in she had heard some girl whispering to her colleagues. Although Maya couldn't hear the entire thing, she could make out that the employee had said- "Poor Mr. Lucas."
She didn't give much thought to it and continued walking towards the meeting room. As soon as she entered the room, the tension level also increased.
"CEO Parker." Ashley's voice could be the only sound heard in the room apart from the clacking of their stiletto heels.
