Maya was so serious about this because she was about to confirm that she was the daughter of a powerful family. People who understood her intentions, would not try to mess up with her anymore whereas people who really wanted to go against her, would use it by saying that she was bullying people just because her father was a respected person in the Politics.
Maya then continued: "I am pretty sure that we all know that my father is respected lawyer in his field. For him my job was, and is still just not acceptable. The only reason he has allowed me to exist here until now is because I am also doing well in my studies. Soon I would be starting my internship for cosmetics as well.
