I was standing in the basement all alone.
It was really dark. I stood in the middle of the room trembling in fear. All of a sudden the same voice I had been hearing for the past two days, ever since I opened the box, spoke up, " Hello my little friend! I've been waiting for you" the voice was really deep and raspy and echoed across the room " Thank you by the way for releasing me. Now there is no limits to what my friends and I can concur " and he laughed like any evil person would laugh. He sat in the darkness somewhere in front of me but I could somewhat see his face. His skin was white as a newly whitewashed wall, his lips looked so red I thought he was wearing lipstick and he sat on a chair but he still looked as tall as I and then my eyes slowly met his.....
I woke up with a start, sweating and panting in fear.
Not the best timing today because Jessie was in my room at that time and burst out laughing.
After that round of daily humiliation I got off my bed and started to get ready.
I heard my daily round of scoldings or as my mom calls it "advising" , I had my breakfast and went up to my room.
Then Andrea called me. I picked up the phone. " Hey Andrea. Are you feeling better? That fall yesterday was pretty bad."
"Sorry I'll try to fall better next time"
"Haha sooo funny"
"I need to meet you. Come to the park today 12:00 sharp. I have some things to talk to you about"
"But Andie we have lots of ho-"
"No excuses! Just come" she snapped
"Well thanks a lot for the respect" I said but she had already cut the phone.
I did my homework as fast as I could and at 12:00 sharp I was at the park just as Andie had ordered.... sorry "asked" me to do.
I met her in one corner of the park. That place was empty. I walked towards her and asked her why she had called me.
"I saw something in your basement yesterday"
"Wha- what was it?"
"It was a man. He had this really long legs and white face and he was wearing this brown hat so I couldn't see his eyes. But he said something. And I had replied but I don't remember what I said. Then the next thing I knew I was on the floor and the man was gone."
"Oh " was all I could manage I knew what she was talking about but I didn't want her to get more worried. "Dude you drank a lot of sugar yesterday, so you probably just hallucinated. My mom also said that too much of screen time is not good for your brain"
Andy's expression was somewhere between confused and " What the heck is wrong with you"
Anyway after that I convinced her to leave and we went back home. I went on a guilt trip too. So much for being courageous. Why couldn't I have just listened to that weird owner? But noooo I HAD to have an adventure.
But one thing was for sure my next few months are going to be horrible.
I started this problem ,I told myself, I had to find a way to end it too.
