Chapter 7 - CHAPTER SIX

Kiefer's Point of View (Present Day)

I had the longest strange dream.

But I can't remember what it is.

All I know is that I want to get back, I want to remember, I want to experience it all over again despite not knowing what it was. It gave me a sudden sense of comfort amidst all the crisis that's happening in my life right now.

I got up late and hurried to prepare for my first day in my new school. I know it's weird to transfer colleges when you're about to graduate. Why couldn't I stay at my last university? You can't actually live a peaceful life when you were born in the spotlight. I enjoyed it, the attention.

It gives me worth, it makes my ego rise up the roof. I got the money, the looks, and the power. But it seemed like those couldn't help me in my situation a few months ago. Being the center of attention has its perks and disadvantages, and my power couldn't help me from people violating my privacy.

That's the incident that happened a few months ago.

A bunch of girls broke into my dorm and I knew I just had to get out of there. Even if I change dorms, I know that they'll find a way to break in. Even with that kind of experience, I would never change a single thing in my life.

After a quick shower, I changed into my new uniform for this last school year. A white, long sleeves, polo, with a matching necktie the same as the women's' and black slacks. I picked out a pair of white urban street sneakers from Givenchy.

I went out of my room and went downstairs to swipe a quick toast. I greeted my dear mother with a kiss on the cheek and cheeky grin.

"Oh? You're already going?" She asked with a pout. I answered her with a warm chuckle and a thumbs up. "Yeah. I'm late already." I answered. "Oh. Then ride with the driver for today. I don't want you to do reckless driving on your first day."

"Even if I go fast, I know I'll get to school safely, mom. I'm a great driver."

"Says the one who got into a car accident a few years ago." She answered with a joke which made me laugh. I just love my mom so much. I have a really great connection with both my parents.

They're very busy but they make time for us siblings.

"Okay! Enough with that. I'll be taking this, and this." I spoke out as I took the fresh off the toaster bread. "Okay, honey! Good luck!"

And I went inside the limousine. My father gives donations to my last university which gave me some kind of better treatment. I loved it though. It's one of the many things money can buy. I earned respect even if I didn't ask for it. I picked this new university named Vanderwaalt.

I saw it in an article once. A lot of heir and heiress studies there because of the high-end education they apparently offer. They also have great security and there never was an incident of trespassing and it immediately caught my eye. Also, they say that if you graduated in Vanderwaalt university, you have the best opportunities in your field. They even do recommendations for the students which is great, so I wouldn't need to go to lame-ass interviews.

We'll see if it really is that great. I think it's too good to be true but I've seen great feedback from the alumnus. After a few minutes, I managed to get to school on time.

I'm going to move into the dorms once I picked out a fraternity to join into. Frat houses are much better than the usual dorms, in my opinion. The limo dropped me off into the school ground, which is the front of the main building. It gives me the same vibes from UCLA and Dartmouth combined with Harvard. It looks promising, I might say.

This could easily be the best school in the country but it's not accessible to everyone because of the tuition. But I heard that they accept scholars and let them live on the dorms for free, with no miscellaneous fees. I don't know if that's true though.

I went inside the lobby to confirm my attendance and she gave me a sweet smile. This is a huge upgrade from my last university. The receptionist there always looks like she has her knickers in a twist.

I took the school map and went over to the main building hall. I'm supposed to get to Prof Thomas for Psychology. I don't know where that is though, I think I'll get lost. I wandered around for a few more minutes. Damn! Late on my first day of school.

The bypassers gave ma a few glances. I hope that they don't recognize me so soon. As I was walking around, I heard a shrill scream go louder and louder as the person it came from, whoever that is, went nearer. "KIEFER!"

I turned around, only to see my younger sister, Lorraine. She panted and rested her hands on her knees as she tried to regain her breathing. "Why the hell are you so early?! And you didn't even wait for me!" She scolded me.

This kid. She thinks she's older than me. But maybe that's just my sisters' nature.

"What the hell are you talking about? Look, I'm 30 minutes late." I told her and showed her my watch. "Huh? Did you get enough sleep? It says there that you're 30 minutes EARLY." She said and put her hands on her waist, demanding for my explanation. What the hell is she saying?

I took another glance on my wristwatch and.., yeah she's right. "The fuck? But my alarm clock said..." I trailed off. "Did you remember setting the time late so you can hurry the fuck up? I think you forgot, you dumb ass." Oh yeah. I did set my clock at home a different time so I wouldn't take too long. Damn, I forgot!

I hurried for nothing. Oh well, at least I got here with plenty of time to spare.

"Did you know that some of your fangirls went to our house? They were complaining that you changed schools. I think they followed me. Can you please talk some sense into them?" She asked me, teary eyed. Those people, really. I didn't know they'll go this far.

To think that my sister, the hardest headed person I know, cried because of them. Lorraine never backs down from anything. I swear if something happened to Lorraine, I'll make them pay. I pulled her closer to me and embraced her. I patted her back and shushed her.

"Shh. Don't worry, I'll talk to them. Come on."

"You better! They're your responsibility! Who do you think should deal with them, me? Wow, you're so great." She scolded and gave me an eye roll. Here she goes again with her attitude. I couldn't help but mutter something. "Of course I'm great. I'm also handsome."

"What was that, dear brother?" She asked sarcastically and gave me a maniac smile. Uh oh.

I chuckled. "Nothing! I'm just saying that I'll deal with them now, my beautiful sister." I said and rested my arm on her shoulders as we walked.

"There's no denying that I'm beautiful. Now, let's go!"

We walked to Priscilla street, at least that's what it says in the map. Apparently, it's the street where all dorm buildings are. Lorraine said that's the street where she parked her car and most likely where my abusive fans are.

As we were walking to our destination, which is a few more blocks from where we are, I heard some girls gossip. They think I can't hear them but I'm used to paparazzi that I can hear what their latest 'rumor' or headline is gonna be.

"Is that him?" Someone said from a group of women. I didn't look at them, or else my little gesture will be another story on the internet. I could just picture it now. 'Kiefer Ramirez has a new love affair from the prestigious Vanderwaalt University'. I'm not letting the sharks bite me this time.

"Don't you know who that is? That's Kiefer and Lorraine Ramirez! They're the Ramirez siblings!"

The other girl gasped. "That's them?! I've never seen them in person but I'm glad I did. This will go to my Instagram story!" I really have no choice but to let her record. If I snapped at her, I'll be the snob celebrity but if I let her record, then more of my fangirls will come here in Vanderwaalt.

Well, they say the security here is the best right? I'll put that to the test.

"I'm kind of shocked that no one has asked for a photo yet. I think I'll ask for one later. It's too early for that yet." Another girl from another group said. "I think I'll nominate him to the couples charity once the nomination starts!"

"Who are you going to pair him with?"

"Kristelle, duh! She's the only one who deserved the guys here."

"Ooh, yes! I'll vote to that!"

Who the hell is this Kristelle woman? And why are they pairing me with her? Are they even sure that she could keep up with my looks? I mean, no one has ever kept up with my handsome face.

"I think your pair is good but I prefer to see her with Ryuuji. They're the defending couple, after all."

First, the Kristelle woman. Now there's a Ryuuuji in the picture? Who the hell are those people after all? And what's this couple charity? For all I know, this Kristelle girl could be ugly. And that's bad for my reputation!

At last, Lorraine and I reached her car. And she is right, there is a bunch of girls waiting for us. They gave a deafening squeal, which almost made my ears bleed. "What do you want?" I asked them using a civil tone. I don't want to go too harsh with these people. After all, all they want is to support me. But they did it unusually and weirdly.

"W-Why did you changed schools?! Now we'll need to wait for one semester to finish before we could shift!" One of the girls replied with tears in her eyes. I laughed. To be honest, I think of her reaction as silly and stupid. I know I'm one of the best models alive but I don't need people who worship me. I'm no God. But my looks are Godly, I can't deny that.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you expect me to attend the university you all attend? Does my world revolve around your silly affections? No." I said, now in a cold voice. They all look miserable. This is just a little payback from making my sister scared.

"W-We're sorry! We'll do anything you want now!" One of them said. It's kind of pathetic, really.

"Look, I won't keep you all from wanting something from me. Pictures and stuff, it's all okay. It's my job as a public figure. But if one of you tried to violate me or my family's privacy, you've all got it coming."

"W-We'll tell the others not to b-break into your dorm! Or make you u-uncomfortable again!"

"Good. Then we're in agreement. Are those my posters? Come on, I'll sign them."
