Country H, City B.
"Laura and Azel, having witnessed your vows for marriage before God and all who are assembled here, by the authority invested in me," The Priest smiled seeing in their impatience, and continued,
"I now pronounce you as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"
Cheers, laughter, and happiness indulged everyone in utmost joy. Looking at the huge crowd, Laura smiled for her dream was finally coming true; after the long hustle, she fought against herself, and her demons!
The man she loved stood right in front, his eyes with a tear of warmth, his smile enough for her sorrows to swipe down.
And the moment his lips touched hers, the world shattered, smiles numbed with cries, tears brimmed her eyes as she saw him covered in blood, now being dragged out, far away from her.
She tried to move but was stuck under a curse and like in a fantasy, the setup changed completely to a dark world as she was now tied to a dry tree. She looked around, fear loosening her faith, hope dropping down with her tears. It was sure a nightmare, but that joke didn't calm her quivering body!
Something started choking her neck, a hand beautiful enough to fall far, of a woman with a blurred face.
"I I beg you, leave ugh ugh ugh." Her words shattered under that woman's smirk.
After minutes of struggle, Laura finally gave up and surrendered as her eyes grew tired with tears. Soon, everything stopped, landing her in a dark room with no light. She sat there alone, crying in her white gown, one that was now covered in blood and her tears!
"Wake UP!"
Bush!
"What the" Laura woke up as the water jar gushed all over her face.
"Happy New Year!" A man with a black apron loosely tied around his waist greeted her with a sarcastic smile.
"You want to die??" She grumbled wiping her face and glared at her brother, who was nothing but a walking nightmare in her life.
"Oops, did I disturb your sweet dream?" Kevin asked munching his carrot while she stared back at him, deadpanned.
"You were crying." He commented pointing at her swollen eyes and she sighed out loud. Taking out her blanket, she instead diverted him, "Your pancakes!"
"Oh, gosh!" Widening his eyes, Kevin ran out wrapping out his bag of questions.
"Thanks to you, I pulled out of it again!" Laura mumbled, sighing out loud before walking inside her washroom.
It was time to push herself to work and forget those haunting thoughts!

Tying her hair in a ponytail, she tightened it while walking down the stairs.
"Geez, it's a new year! At least change your hairstyle." A hungry puppy with an empty plate in hand commented with scorn.
"Focus on your high school life, kiddo." Ruffling his hair, Laura sat back on her chair. Sniffing the smell of those burnt toasts from the kitchen, she asked, "Is he still cooking?"
And at Rey's disappointed nod, she quickly took out her phone and mumbled, "Canteen here I come, then."
Pausing her ringtone she acted like picking up the fake call, "Happy New Year, Zen."
"Oh no! What are his vitals? Okay, hang in for around 20 minutes! I will be there soon!" Putting down the phone, she winked at Rey and took her coat and bag, getting ready to run out of the dining hall.
"Turtle, there's an emergency. I need to go! Rey will eat my pancakes."
"Enjoy." Ruffling her Lil brother's hair, Laura rushed out of the house, sparing her taste buds from the burnt food.
"No, wait! It's almost ready!" Kevin came out, but seeing Rey smiling at him, he sighed out loud before going back into the kitchen.
"That Wicked Woman!" Rey could only grumble about his ill fate. Now, his new year would have a great start with all the pancakes!

BlueMoon Hospital.
Parking her car, Laura took out her black backpack and hung it loosely on one shoulder. She then walked towards the hospital building as strangers took a glance at her. Though she was in simple clothes, she caught their attention with her cute smile.
"Happy New Year."
"Happy New Year."
"Happy New Year."
Greeting the hospital staff on her way, she took the lift to the second floor. And the moment she reached the cabin, a man held her shoulders and forced her to sit on the chair.
"My best friend, Dr. Mighty, check on the new residents on my behalf, pleasee!" Zen squatted down tightly, holding both hands while she tried to free herself, "I cannot!"
"Chief ordered for you to take charge of them!" Zen continued to beg but Laura shook her head in a clear no.
"I have a date!" He pleaded with his puppy pout making Laura huff in annoyance.
She gritted her teeth and agreed as Zen cried on his knees, "Fine!"
"Aww, thank you! thank you!" Swirling the chair she was sitting on, Zen got up and immediately rushed out, even throwing some flying kisses toward her as she shook her head in regret!
"Here are the details you need!" A Head Nurse passed the file and Laura keenly studied the new batch. Patting her head, the head nurse wished, "Good luck and Happy New year, sweetie!" And she walked back to her station, as Laura replied politely.
Looking through the names, Laura checked the big ticking clock and sighed. Placing her things aside even the white coat, she walked towards Meeting Room 6.
And as she reached the room, a group of five looked at her, only one to make a wild guess, "Ahhhh, one more! Welcome to the gang!"
A chubby guy dragged her to the empty seat and continued, "You look familiar by the way. Did you perhaps study in Christian Medical school?"
Laura blinked in confusion and before she could reply, the long-winded cut her off, "Whatever, we have already introduced ourselves so let's skip yours as we have already read your file!" He continued pointing at the resumes, and before Laura could curse him for his rudeness, he added with a grin, "And also because we are discussing something much more important!"
Blinking in confusion, Laura nodded slowly and the guy sat back on the chair beside her with a smile. He continued to scroll through what seemed like a community forum, and she could only act at his will, "So, now it's our Attendees!"
"Dr. Zen is mostly a humble guy and he will be here soon. And the fun fact is," Leaning a bit forward, he whispered, "He is gay! Hehehe, can't believe it right?" The guy chuckled looking at everyone and ended his gaze at Laura who awkwardly laughed with a nod.
"Ok, next is the hot couple, Dr. Theo and his wife, Dr. Mellie. They aren't an issue for us," He commented showing their pictures, "And the next is Dr. Diana, haha not Princess Diana but she comes from a wealthy family and is a bit strict."
Laura sure enjoyed his comments about her colleagues and waited for her turn which soon started,
"And the next one is bizarre! It is none other than Laura Davies."
"The low-key sister of Kevin Davies?" One asked curiously and Maverick nodded, sighing out loud.
"She is dubbed as Crazy Witch in the hospital and is known for her temper! She is also really cunning unlike her cute appearance as per the sources and her picture, hmm" Maverick scrolled as he couldn't find a tag with her name and Laura just leaned back on her seat with a smirk. Crazy Witch? And he dared to call it loud? This batch will suffer more under her now!
"I heard she is also the youngest surgeon in our country, right now!"
"Yeah, let's not forget she is also the daughter of Late General Mr. Davies!" Others piled up the points they knew waiting for her picture to be revealed.
"Guys, sh-she is the one!" The guy who was silent throughout, the one sitting opposite to her said but the other four were busy scrolling for her picture that they didn't hear his words.
Laura sulked glaring at him he was spoiling the game!
"Yes, I got it!" Maverick rejoiced to show the picture and others peeked in, only to widen their eyes in shock. They stared at Laura in horror, then at Liam, their batchmate who sighed shaking his head. They were already on her wrong side now!
The four stood up from their seats, their facing paling up as Laura smiled glancing at each one of them.
Dr. Theo who entered at the same moment, smirked looking at the fallen angel. He held back his chuckle and leaned on the door, waiting for the show to start, a thriller since Laura was his host!
