Chereads / The Lord of Principles / Chapter 39 - The Heart of the Heartless

Chapter 39 - The Heart of the Heartless

The pathetic cheap cliche of living to some is

being elegant,

To which the material things bring us joy.

being divergent,

To which living indifference,

being resilient,

To which we tend to handle things that could rough to us.

being overindulgent,

To which we indulge ourselves, that to the fact we take advantage of the what's around us.

But the sullen meaning of living is being relevant to this world.

He wants to do the cheap cliche.

And yes, of course. That would be the worst choice.

But he is out to take revenge.

It is them that will burn in flames. I fucking swear it.

Percy thought through and through about what the hell was that vision he saw when he and Dale fucked their brains out at the motel a while back while walking down the night street of New Orleans.

The street is usual of colorful celebration while some of the women show their tits out of joy. Trumpets and jazz songs play around the city in the mix that Percy does not consider a noise. Hell, it was actually a relief that he hears the jazz songs as kind of like a spell or chant to make the spirit of the Axeman disappear. As if, he thought.

Even though the music is loud on the streets, the noise in his head is much louder as he cannot stop thinking about what happened earlier. For a witch or a warlock, you get to be more powerful each day. You manifest a new power that can also be useful in passing the Acts of Principles, as what Miss Clementine mentioned to them one time they were having dinner. And what has happened a while ago is a manifestation indeed of new power. Animus Lector or the power of vision.

It is weird though that he manifested that while fucking his boyfriend, but nevertheless, it could be useful for the academy, and piqued his curiosity.

He has dated Dale a few months after being enrolled in the academy by his father who has a little care about him. It wasn't that his sexuality is the problem, but the fact that he can do such things can be dangerous for his father to be re-elected for being the Governor. He knows that his father was only asking for his welfare, and that, at least. he's thankful for his father.

When he got back to school, everything is what he expects. Dim lights from the pillars shining through the hallway, and he is used to this kind of setting whenever he arrives. He enjoys the solitude of the house even though he sometimes hears the voices of the people who demised.

"Well, I haven't seen you ever since Miss Clem was brought to the hospital."

Percy got surprised when some talked from the darkness of the bar. "Jesus Christ, Aria. You almost scared the shit out of me."

Soft laughter was heard from Aria. He goes to the bar where he sees her holding a glass of champagne. He finds it weird for someone drinking champagne in a dark room, which is not suiting for a place to celebrate.

"May I offer you a drink, Sir Perseus?" Aria said.

"Well. I think I need one." Percy said while sitting at the bar.

Aria then puts a glass in front of him. She watches her get some ice from the fridge, and a bottle of rum whilst she hums randomly. Percy does not know Aria that much, but he finds Aria kind of entertaining in a weird way, and not having realized that he was poured a drink.

"Cheers, my love." She holds up her glass while waiting for Percy. He does find her weird. Something about her is not right. Then he holds his glass and they cheer with their glasses anyway.

The rum straightly strikes a sort of pain in his throat that makes him want to puke. He remembers that he is not a fan of hard drinks. He is more of a beer guy.

"Why didn't you say so, my friend?" Aria said.

"Excuse me?" Percy said.

"Never mind, dear. I'll go up to my room quietly, and leave you there." She starts walking from the bar and turns back to her. "Finish that up. You do not want the Lord to get mad for wasting his liquor." Then walks away.

'Has she read my mind at that time?' Percy asked himself. It was his first time encountering a witch to read his mind ever since he got enrolled in this school. Not even Miss Clementine did it to him (or he thought she is unable to do so).

And what makes him a question as well is that Aria is acting strange. Like it wasn't her. But he couldn't tell anyway. He does not know her that very well. In fact, he does not know much of the people here in the academy, and that would be alright for him, as long as they wouldn't know what has become of him.

But something tells him that he wants to tell someone about the vision he saw earlier, and it's not Aria whose the first person he likes to talk to as this could lead his hunch to something else. He must talk to someone who clearly knows, and studies about the manifestations of one's ability of a witch or warlock. He then thinks of John Harding.

But then, he couldn't hear him at all in the school. Nothing at all.

Before making drastic measurements, he then goes to the second person who may know of John's whereabouts. Then finished the drink he has with him.

-

"I have the slightest idea of his whereabouts, mate."

Percy and Wayne are in a small cabaret-like club just a meter away from the school. The lady at the stage sings a Judy Garland song that he cannot put a title of what song is it. Or maybe the singer tries hard to sing with Garland's tone.

"And Jesus Christ, what a nice place for us to talk to, Percy." Wayne sarcastically says to him.

"Sorry man, it's the only place I know that opens until 3 am, the farthest from the school, to say the least," Percy said.

"And you think we're going to have a long chat about a topic you never mentioned to me while I was at Meghan's room? That's why you brought me here?" Wayne said and looks around to see people, especially the ladies that were looking at their table.

"At least, you get some attention from the lassies in this club," Percy said, the continues, "and yes, it could be a long chat."

Wayne is not actually having it when he's being disturbed from doing what he's doing. He may get more especially now that Meghan is his responsibility to take care of. But when he senses that someone might want to talk to him, he entertains them especially if it's important.

A waiter serves their food on their table and leaves immediately, and as soon as that, Wayne wasn't happy with what was served to him. "Really? A salad in a bar?" Wayne said disappointed.

"Well, it's not exactly a bar like what the kids go to. It's a resto-bar." Percy said.

"You could at least order a Cajun Seafood. This is New Orleans, anyway."

"Would you just stop complaining and say thank you? I treated you with my allowance from my politician dad, anyway." Percy said.

Wayne almost leans to his faces nearly as if he would kiss him. "Fine, " then gets far from Percy's hot cheeks, and makes a sign of a cross as if he's praying for grace, " Thank you for the food, and I hope that I would have more blessings yada yada yada. Amen!" And starts to dig in the salad he ordered for them.

Percy may have chosen the wrong person to talk about John, but what he knows of him is that he is close to the guy. Which makes him qualified anyway.

"Have you seen John in the Academy, lately?" Percy asked the guys beside him who's eating.

"Last time I checked, he was somewhere touring around the world because he likes to test the limits of his newly manifested power, as what Miss Clem's sister said one time at lunch a while ago." Wayne said while finishing his food. "aren't you going to eat those?" Wayne pertains to Percy's untouched plate.

"Wait, teleportation powers? John has manifested them?"

"Why do you care anyway? It's not new for John to be the person to manifest the powers to pass the Acts of Principles. He could be the next Lord, " then Wayne stops eating, "Why are you asking them now, and you suddenly got interested in the people inside the house? Dale's got you bored for bottoming you?" Wayne said and scoffs.

"No, I just got surprised, that is all. Not the power manifestation shit, but his sudden disappearance from the academy." Percy said and rationally thought that John could have been traveling to somewhere, the reason why he has not seen him since.

"When will he come back?" Percy asked Wayne.

Then Wayne suddenly stops eating. "Which reminds me, I never see an updated post on his Instagram account about the places he went to." Wayne fishes out his phone from his pocket to take a look from his Instagram account.

"Well, I am looking at his profile, and his last update was a day ago. He'll be fine. Wayne said.

"Sorry but you haven't answered my question though. When would John be back at the academy?"

"Well, as far as I can remember, the maid announced that he won't be back for few months, and will be on leave of absence," Wayne said.

"That's too long, don't you think?" Percy said.

"Again, why do you care anyway?" Wayne asks Percy.

It would be weird for him to tell Wayne what he saw when he was with Dale. He does not know though if it's a manifestation of power, but what he knows is that Wayne does listen to whatever he's told to.

-

It's a sin that he has done, again and again, whilst the lady of the house sleeps in her room.

'It just feels good to be inside again, bare.'

It's a sin that he has done, again and again, whilst he abused his ability to silence the whole house.

'Oh yeah. When was the last time?'

It's a sin that he has done, again and again, whilst he fucks someone in the garage.

'She came already twice, and I wasn't even finished.'

It's a sin that he has done, again and again, whilst he tells all the lies.

"I'm coming again!" The slut he's fucking starts to shake.

It's a sin that he has done, again and again. And he would do it; he keeps on fucking, which makes the slut makes noise, which makes his cock even harder. He will tell all the lies and kill anyone who may take his place. He will do everything to not be replaced.

It's a sin of a man's heart of a heartless.
