After they finished talking, the female employee hang up the call and turned towards Mina, "It was confirmed, you have a meeting with the managing director at one in the afternoon. Please follow me as I will guide you to his humble office."
'Humble office?' Mina thought to herself while she followed the female employee, 'More like we are going to a tiger's den, a black hole, or the demilitarized zone between the North and South Korea.'
Contrary to what was Mina thinking, she simply said, "Thank you so much,"
Mina took a deep breath, getting herself ready for whatever obstacle she might come across.
She knew it was not going to be easy. And it is undoubtedly going to be difficult for her.
But above anything else, she has already decided to put everything at stake.
Indeed, she was ready to give up just to enter the company and rise among stable rookie actresses.
Following the female information desk employee in the elevator, she watched the staff click the highest floor, which is the eighth floor. The building has two underground levels and eight levels above the ground.
When they arrived on the eighth floor, the overall ambiance changed. While the ground floor houses the lobby, decorated with a much modern and chic style, and has an enormous LED screen, the eighth floor had a minimalistic approach with colors black, gray, and white as the main attractive points.
The female information desk employee walked silently towards a specific room. Yes, they have already arrived at their destination.
Mina expected the female staff to knock on the door and enter the room with her. But to her surprise, the employee was on her way to turn around and leave her alone.
"Wait," Mina spoke as she tapped the female staff's shoulder, "Are you not going to enter the CEO's office with me, ma'am?"
Shaking her head in reply, the employee gave a wry smile, "I apologize for that, ma'am, but I won't. The CEO's son is known for his weird and eccentric attitude that I am even afraid to mention his name or get associated with him more than I could ever handle."
"I-is that s-so?" Mina cautiously replied as her stare went to the door, then to the female employee standing right next to her. "Is there a reason why you avoid the son of the CEO?"
"Well," The female employee crossed her arms and started speaking in an informal tone, "The son of the CEO is a weird kid, But honestly, he is the perfect candidate for the position. There are a ton of rumors about him. One of them is this. He is infamous for sleeping with many women and then not taking responsibility with them."
When the female employee said that, Mina automatically raised her walls and became even warier to his college sunbae, Kim Jeho,
What if he only sleeps with her, gets her pregnant, and then not take full responsibility for the child, and her career will hit rock bottom?
She has not even gotten the chance to rise, but she will hit bottom first?
No.
Certainly not!
Not for her, Mina will definitely not want her career to go downhill.
"Do not worry too much, though." The staff continued, "No one ever had the guts to befriend or get to know the future CEO so that the rumors might be twisted or based on people's impression about him." Raising both of her brows casually, the female information desk staff even, "If the chairman's son invited a pure and elegant looking face such as you are, maybe it is a good sign for everyone in the company.
"Do you think so?" Mina asked.
"No, I was just telling you that not all you can see or hear is the truth, but what you don't see and hear is only a part of the truth too." The female staff eventually bowed her head silently, "I am going now. Remember what I said, and I am sure you will be fine."
Bobbing her head up and down, she could definitely feel herself burning with extreme dedication and determination. She watched the female information desk employee bow her head slightly, turning her back, and walked away from her.
She could feel the sudden boost of adrenaline in her when she stared at the door again. Taking several deep breaths while clutching her bag with pepper spray in it, Mina waited for someone to answer.
But she did not hear anyone.
Mina knocked two times and waited for any response.
Nothing came her way.
Looking around the hallway, she realized that she was alone.
Stomping her feet in frustration, she looked at her wristwatch and realized it was already one in the afternoon. The eerie feeling that she felt made her nauseous; she opened her bag again to check if her pepper spray was there.
'Calm down, Mina. You have to calm down,' Mina muttered to herself as she was feeling anxious. In this unknown situation for her, she has to look where CCTV's are and make sure that she feels safe.
For some reason, she did not feel safe at all.
Or at least that is what her gut feeling told her.
Mina was becoming even more impatient as time went by; she just wanted to turn the doorknob and get inside the room once and for all.
Clenching and unclenching her fists to stay calm, Mina could definitely feel her time bomb ticking to its further limits.
Her hands remained at her sides as she shifted her weight to her left foot.
After twenty minutes, Mina could not possibly wait any longer and decided to gather the teeny-weeny bits of courage left in every part of her body.
In haste, she immediately grabbed the door handle and twisted it. She slowly peeked inside and felt nervous. When she finally opened the door wide, Mina was shocked about what she saw.
He was definitely out of this world.
That Kim Jeho.
