When Adrian left for home, it was already quite late into the night. He had to unfortunately miss a day of training because of unforeseen circumstances, however, he could only shrug and move on given the situation.
Walking on the sidewalk, Adrian felt that the area was abnormally quiet. The street, which usually had some people walking around, didn't seem to have anybody at all, with the exception of himself.
Adrian quietly hugged himself as he quickened his pace. As he was nearing the bus stop, he realized to his dismay, that a blue haired boy was standing with his back resting on a wall, looking at him with a cold, but blank look. It was none other than Cody.
Adrian tried to ignore Cody and walk straight, but was quickly stopped by the blue haired boy's voice.
"Why, if it isn't the glorious cripple? I didn't realize you took this path home." Cody spoke coldly, his eyes carefully looking at Adrian.
Adrian ignored Cody's verbal jab and continued walking straight ahead.
"Did I give you permission to ignore me?" Cody, asked in a sudden emotional deviation. "It seems not being beaten for a few days has straightened your spine. I heard you suddenly dared to fight back, huh?"
Adrian stopped and turned around to face Cody. "What do you want from me? Can't you leave me alone?"
When Cody heard Adrian's question, he burst into laughter. "Do you think you are in a position to bargain with me? Come follow me."
"No. I don't want anything to do with you." Adrian replied definitely and walked away towards the bus stop.
Cody snorted, but didn't do anything violent to Adrian. He simply turned and walked into the familiar dark alley.
A few minutes after Cody entered the alley a shadow transformed into the silhouette of a woman behind him.
"Who is that boy?" She asked curiously of Cody.
"A cripple in my class who I play around with occassionally." Cody replied dismissively before he took out a few more test tubes. "I've got the DNA samples of all strength ability users from my school. I want more of that drug."
The woman raised her palm confidently. "Of course. You know the terms of the deal. One vial of the drug for a unique strength ability user's DNA sample."
Cody nodded and handed the test tubes to her, and in turn received a few small vials of a red solution. However, the woman frowned when she saw the lack of emotion on Cody's face.
"Did something happen to you?" She asked seriously. "You better not hide anything from us."
Cody shrugged. "A student died of injuries after battling me. The school called in this group called the Reformation Division, and they were interrogating me."
"Reformation Division? You fool!" The woman's eyes turned furious. "Have you been brainwashed by those fools? What did you reveal to them?"
Cody frowned at the woman's sudden change in attitude. "What do you mean?" He asked in visible confusion.
At that moment, three people jumped down into the alley from the two adjoining buildings, surrounding Cody and the mysterious woman.
"Hehe, he spoke to us alright. It was hard to believe that such a thing existed. Is it that red substance that gave this foolish brat another complementary ability?" One of the three individuals said with a slight chuckle, golden phoenix brooch flashing in the darkness.
The mysterious woman looked at the three people from the Reformation Division and snorted. Her hands turned into gigantic dark shadows, one of which grabbed Cody like a doll and moved him to the side and the other simultaneously turning into spikes and attempting to pierce the three people from the Reformation Division.
The three however were a very complementary team. One had mental telepathic powers that could coordinate with the other two, one's arms could convert into metallic green chains and the third's legs could erupt a powerful mental shockwave on stomping the ground, causing a moment of mental paralysis.
The moment the mysterious woman's hand turned into a shadow and tried to attack the three, they immediately coordinated to dodge. One of the arms turned into a long green metallic chain and smashed into the woman but the chain went past her body.
The mysterious woman immediately darted forward, towards the woman from the reformation group trio who was using mental telepathy to organize the battle formation against her forming a huge pincer of shadow to clamp the woman's head off, but another green chain interrupted the attack by lodging within the pincer and then pulling it powerfully away.
At the same time, the third man in the trio stomped his leg causing a psychic shockwave that stunned the mysterious woman and froze her into place.
"Get her!" The telepath screamed in her mind as she saw the shadow ability user frozen in place. The other two rushed towards her, green chains grabbing and tying her up, while a leg smashing into her abdomen, sending another psychic shockwave into her body. The mysterious woman coughed up blood.
The three slightly relaxed, sure now that they had caught their opponent, when they saw to their horror, that the woman bit her tongue hard, and awakened from the state of mental shock. Her entire body erupted with shadow spikes, perforating the two members of the trio closest to her.
"Shit!" The telepath, who was trying to guide the battle from a distance yelled with alarm, immediately changing her orders. The bloodied duo were pushed back by the Shadow ability user, who jumped awkwardly over the wall into the air and once again expanded her hand into a huge serrated shadow blade towards the telepath, her main target, yet a green chain swung towards her again, this time began to corrode the shadow blade, causing the mysterious woman to shrink back.
"Corrosion power! Bastard!" She exclaimed in anger. Her hatred for the blue haired boy who had put her into such a perilous position rose against the sky as she was flung back into a wall, her body bloodied. As long as that telepath could guide the two to synchronize against her, she realized that she had no chance and her eyes turned furious.
