She stood alone in front of the gravestone while the wind blew through her hair. Her tears had finally dried. She always knew this day would be hard but she found comfort with her family around. Now, she stood alone in the darkness and let her mind drift away to all the happy moments she'd had in her life.
The man moved through the darkness of the trees until he came to the edge of them. He stood there for a while, watching the woman as she stood in silence at the foot of a grave. He felt her sorrow but he was captured by her beauty as he always was. He silently made his way across the field. He wrapped his arms around her and she leaned into him.
"Nathaniel," Dominique breathed.
"Dominique, my love. I could not stand to wait any longer before I came to see you. I have been feeling your pain for days. I'm only here to comfort you in your time of need," Nathaniel said as he kissed her cheek.
"Thank you. I know it's been a long time," Dominique said.
